My six month old son will not stop crying. I've tried everything I can think of. I've bathed him with bedtime bath, sang to him, played his favorite CD, layed with him, given him teething tablets, rocked him, fed him, changed him...etc. He won't stop crying. I'm losing my mind here. Any advise on how to calm him would be great.

Also, I'm totally against the "cry it out" method....no need to suggest.

I have a 6 month old little girl, who is in the stage now where she gets on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth. Then plops back down on her belly. Sometimes she'll even launch herself forward! She's so ready to crawl!
I was just wondering what age your kids were when they started crawling?

i am making my sons food, and so far he has just had veggies and fruit, i was told that he should be starting to eat what we eat, which tonight is a stir fry. the only sauces i use are soy sauce adn a bit of sweet chili. Are these okay for my baby or will they make him sick? does anyone kow what foods are supposed to be given?

Please please please nobody get mad! This is just a question I want some different answers to, from both sides;

Bottle-feeders;

As much as you get on here and say you're so happy you chose to bottle-feed and your kid is just as healthy, smart, etc., why are you mostly the ones who get on here and say 'Why is breastfeeding so special?' It just seems like you're second-guessing yourselves and trying to feel better about it. You know the research, and as much as you can say 'My kid's just as healthy as someone's kid I know who's breastfed', studies look at millions of babies as a group, not your kid compared to your friend's.

Breastfeeders;

As secure as I'm sure you are with your decision, don't always answer those questions and get all defensive about it. Nobody condemns you for breastfeeding and no matter how much you tell someone who bottle-feeds that it's better for their baby, they obviously look past that and are stuck to their decision! It's a CHOICE!

At 2 1/2 months, how many ounces did your baby take at each feeding and how many times per day?

OK, so I know "every baby is different", but I'm trying to get an idea of whether or not my son is eating too much. I didn't have any problems with my daughter, but I don't know what to do with my son.

He weighs right at 11.5 pounds (was 6 lbs 10 oz at birth) and the doctor isn't at all concerned. His "output" is normal, but he acts like he's hungry A LOT. Right now he's getting 5 ounces 7-8 times a day (35-40 oz in a 24 hour period). I know the general rule is 2-3 oz per pound of baby, but that puts us at 23-35 oz each day, and I feel like I'm feeding him too much. Is this normal???

I am concidering changing my 15mo daughter to cloth diapers, she has a terrible problem with continuous rash, sometimes it get so bad it blisters, and i believe the cloth diaper being more breathable will help reduce this rash problem we've been having.
but i don't really know where to start, i hear about liners and ones with pins and ones with velcro??? and how many do i buy? i change her diaper roughly ever1 to 2 hours everyday except while she's asleep at night, so thats roughly 8 to 10 times a day, not to mention she wakes up in the middle of the night still so i change her when that happens to. so i'll give it a dozen diapers a day. do i day two dozen then? or three? i want plenty for those Just in case moments, and someone told me you change more often with a cloth diaper.

so what'er liners? do i have to buy those seperate? How many should i buy? where is a good place to buy from? to i have to bleach them when i was them? soak them?

Anyone who can teach me, THANKS!

I am really getting worried it seems to just be spreading. I have made sure to change her diaper regularly and keep her clean and dry. I have used penaten diaper rash creame as well.

Hi,

I have been breastfeeding my baby from day one - it has been a very difficult and painful process but i have kept it up. The problem that i have is I cannot express any milk. I have tried and tried for the last three months to no avail.

I only have enough to meet her demands. She still wants feeding every 90 minutes - i thought by now she would space her feeds out for longer???/

I am going to work in two months and wanted to get her to drink formula (during the day only as I won't be with her) but she won't take a bottle and spits the formula out. I have tried several different bottles and teats to no avail.

I still want to breastfeed in the evenings, night and morning,

Please help - otherwise she will be going hungry during the day.

I swear my 10 week old is the son of a superhero! check out this pick of him. He is 10 weeks today and is standing on his own.

I think he is just advancing fast. He rolls over already. Even at 2 weeks he rolled over. He cooes all the time and just has conversations with me in baby talk. He even is grabbing at toys now.

what do u think about my standing baby Drake?

here is his pic http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g196/purekittyluv/standingup.jpg

My baby is 5 months old next week and has started turning herself onto her tummy at night. She can only turn one way at the moment so can't turn herself back onto her back yet. Im alittle worried about SIDS but did read somewhere that once they start turning the risk goes down. Is this when they can turn over onto tum and back onto back again or just onto tum. I keep turning her back but she likes to sleep on her tum!

I breastfeed her 4-5 times a day and give her solids for breakfast, lunch and dinner plus snack. She isn't all that interested in breastfeeding anymore, but I continue to because she needs the nourishment. Some days she hardly wants to nurse at all. I'm not supplementing with formula.. she is purely breastfed, besides her solid meals. I'm thinking I won't be able to breastfed her much longer, how would I go about weaning her? I want to do it gradually, as I introduce her more to table foods, and possibly extend the weaning process after her first birthday. But I'm not quite sure where I cut out feedings. What are the signs a baby is self weaning? I just want her to be nourished.. as I'm sure every mom feels. I've been dreading the time she would start losing interest in breastfeeding.. I just didn't expect it so soon. Have any of your children had a lack of interest in breastfeeding at this age?

I was just wondering - my cousin is due to have her 2nd baby in a couple months - and people in our family want to throw her a baby shower (she had a huge one for her 1st baby too, which was a boy and this baby is a boy as well). Is this really proper ettiquette? I guess I always just thought it was for the first baby.

Infant skulls arent very protective of their brains when newborn, so is there a possibility that vibrating chairs can cause some brain damage? I know it sounds rediculous but it makes sense to me...all that head shaking could cause brain cell damage you would think. What do you moms think about that?
