I have a 6 month old. Is it okay to dilute the 1st stage baby food (fruit/veg in jars) and give it the baby in a bottle?

The baby used to eat the fruit and veggies about a month back and all of a sudden has started fussing to eat and purses his lips tight. It is not laziness. Please advise a new mom!

No, it's not OK.

If you insist on feeding your child solids at this age, they need to learn how to eat from a spoon.

Putting solids into bottles is linked to obesity and diabetes. If you are too busy to feed your child with a spoon, delay solids until you're ready.

Well, that would depend on your baby's age. If your baby is close to a year in age I would hope he/she is still not on just stage 1 foods, but could be weaned off formula and onto cow's milk. If they are under a year, NO. Formula needs to be your baby's main source of nutrition until they are a year in age. Furthermore, I hope you're not giving your baby more juice than formula. It's full of empty calories and your baby should only have a couple ounces at a time(AT MOST).

There is no good reason to do so. At 6 months, most babies are ready to begin the adventure of eating from a spoon. At first, it is just for fun and practice. No need to worry too much in the first year about how much solid food your baby is eating. Most of the vitamins and nutrients necessary for proper growth and development come from breast milk (or formula) during the first year. The second 1/2 of his first year is a good time to introduce him to a cup as well, so you won't want him to get too comfortable taking all his food in bottle form.

No, because the baby 1st stage food, is already diluted. And dont be lazy. Just feed it to ur baby with a baby spoon.

Don't let them drink it. The whole purpose of baby food is to feed it to your baby. Get a bowel and a baby spoon and feed it to them. Don't be lazy. Your baby is old enough to start eatting solid food from a spoon.

From the knowledge on the top of my head, being a nanny, mother, I would not go to those type foods. Unless of course your baby has a good amount of teeth. I recomend Blending it very very well, so it is the mass of milk. Choking hazzards are cautioned if you just dilute it together. Or i would just stick with gerber original babyfoods, without the fruit and veggies. Hope this works, if not here is a link... Have a good motherhood~

It's ok to do- they even make bottles for that but I think it's the lazy way of doing it and they can choke very easily that way. Plus you need to teach your baby to eat from a spoon.

There are no negative health effects, but the first stage baby foods are meant to introduce your child to eating more solid foods.

Um, lol, nooooooo. If he fusses, then heis not hungry or is not ready. Don't force it. Do you drink your food? NO, so baby doesn't either.
