I swear my 10 week old is the son of a superhero! check out this pick of him. He is 10 weeks today and is standing on his own.

I think he is just advancing fast. He rolls over already. Even at 2 weeks he rolled over. He cooes all the time and just has conversations with me in baby talk. He even is grabbing at toys now.

what do u think about my standing baby Drake?

here is his pic http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g196/purekittyluv/standingup.jpg

first of all, it is not fake photography. I stood him up in front of a chair and stood there. He had back support from the chair, but he didnt fall to the side or forward. or buckle his legs..... i dont like people saying things that arent true!

Great Job Mom!!! Keep up the good work! You may have a little Superman on your hands. You certainly are doing the right thing spending so much time nurturing your child. It is obvious to see its paying off! Congrats. He is adorable!

Cool pic, but please don't leave your son standing by himself anymore, he may have the strength in his legs to support himself for a short period of time (my first was the same) but he's not capable of balancing himself well. At this age, they're still really top heavy, so as tempting as it is to see him demonstrate this skill, don't stand him up without being close enough to grab him quickly if he topples over, which can happen REALLY quickly. You'd hate to see him get a fright or hurt himself.

Babies grow up really quickly as it is, before you know it they are walking, talking and answering back. Leave him be a baby for as long as you can. Enjoy his advanced development, but don't push him to do things that are physically not appropriate for his age.

While every baby progresses at his/her own speed, I find it hard to believe that at 2 months your son is standing on his own. At this age they have not yet mastered spinal control, let alone being able to stand unassisted. Additionally, if you look closely at the picture he is leaning to the left. There is no way that he's doing that without toppling over. I don't mean to belittle or take anything away from your little one - I'm sure he is a super baby, just like everyone else's. And he certainly is cute!

Don't you think it's SHOCKING how many people have been taken in by this photo?! People! Stop and think for a minute! Ask yourselves if it's physically possible for a 10 week old to stand!!

(I was wondering what I'd see when I clicked on the photo - my guess was a photo of a ten week old CAT, but your idea was cleverer)

nice one - is the sofa on its back and you laid him on it??

babies aren't developed enough with co-ordination and balance to stand on their own at 10 weeks - interesting that you can't see his lower legs, either, but interesting to see how many gullible people you catch hehe

my daughter 'rolled' at 2 weeks - she prefered sleeping on her side and would move onto her sideand the rolling happened one day by accident.

at 10 weeks babies are starting to be able to explore the sounds they can make and studies from before birth have shown that by hearing your voice and its intonations, babies understand when to 'contribute' to a conversation by listening to the rises and falls in your tones, so if you take a break, they will make some sort of contribution - you have obviously been taking the time to chat with your son very carefully, well done - he will be a good speaker and listener - and reader, possibly.

grabbing at toys begins to happen around now, too - they learn to reach to bat and swat at toys.

I'm so pleased you are enjoying your son - and doing fake photography - but I'm afraid he sounds quite normal.

but there are many parents doing far less and their childrenmight not have the great start yours has had.

He's a cutie! And a chunk! I want to squeeze those cheeks :+) Some children have that natural ability to do things that will take others months to master. Enjoy every moment and don't blink your eyes 'cause he'll be grown before you know it.

Your question leads me to ask more questions:

What does your ds's doctor think of this?

What was your ds doing right after he was born?

When did he stand on his own?

Is he crawling?

Have you contacted the Genius Book of World Records?
