I named my son Dylan John. His father picked out Dylan just because he liked it and John in my husbands middle name.

With our daughter it was my turn to pick. I names her Julianne Marlaine....Julianne because I have always liked that name...my mom's good friend growing up was named that. Marlaine is after my grandma's Mary and Elaine. .....But if I could go back and have a little more time ( I was doped up after my c section and being pressured by friends and family because she was a few hours old with no name) to think about it I would have named her Marlaina ( still my grams) Beverly ( after my hubby's grandma. I like it better and I cannot even use it if I choose to have another baby because I put Marlaine as Julianne's middle name! Lol....it is all good though! I love my Julianne!

My baby was 9lbs 10 oz at birth because i got gestational diabetes while i was pregnant. He eats about 6- 8 oz at a time of formula and it's about every 2 hrs except during the night he can go about 4-6 hrs w/out eating. He is 10 weeks old and weighs 14 lbs and some oz. The doctor said he proportioned right but my husband sometimes says we shouldn't feed him so much cause he doesnt want him to get fat and be a fat kid. We have a 6 year old who is very skinny but was 7lbs 10 oz at birth . I have a little brother who was 9lbs something and he is a toothpick now ........

what do u think? Deprive my baby of food when he's hungry? or let him eat?

Our boy goes to sleep around 9:30 and drinks a good Flrmula bottle. He lay him in his bed, and every night around 11:30 he wakes up screaming. All we usually have to do at that point is put his bottle back in his mouth and pat his butt. Then he usually wakes up around 1am and acts like hes up for the morning. We lay him next to us and he will eventually go back to sleep but not for long. He then wakes up between 3 and 4am and screams his head off, even if his eyes are shut he just screams.

We have tried everything we can think of to stop this and we have ran out of ideas. Please Help.

If you are wondering. He takes between 3 and 4 naps a day that last between 30 minutes to an hour and a half. And He is 1 week shy of bgin 1 year old.

thank you.

ughh i know this topic has been done to death but i'm in desperate need for some help. this is my first pregnancy.
here's the story:
i was slightly underweight before i got pregnant last year. i'm 5'7" and i weighed 115lbs. i got pregnant in july of last year and steadily gained about 60-ish pounds by the time i gave birth in april. i ate whatever i wanted in the first trimester and the first half of the second trimester but i figured that it wasn't worth it to gorge myself on food. so i began eating fairly healthy with the occasional sweet but my weight still grew steadily. by the time april came around, i was a whopping 174lbs.
my son is now 6months old and i weigh 150lbs! i hate my thunder thighs and my belly. i go for 2 long walks a day with my son and dog, i use an exercise bike when i can, i eat healthy, i drink tons of water so why am i not losing any weight? i've stayed at 150lbs for the past 4months.
i'm breastfeeding still but i don't know if that has anything to do with it

hi - sorry if this sounds silly! I'm just a little obsessed! I am white, blonde hair blue eyes. My husband is mixed race - his mother is caribbean black and his dad is white (blonde hair blue eyes). My husband has light skin and green eyes. Is it possible to have a child that is blonde? Is it possible to have a child darker than my husband? Of course, I just want a happy healthy baby, but what do you think? Does anyone know someone who is 1/4 black/caribbean?

Is there some kind of a "formula" for figuring this out? Some days he eats around 20 ounces and others it's closer to 25 ounces. I don't "limit" his feedings because I figure that if he's eating, he's hungry BUT I don't want overfeed him and lead him into a lifetime of obesity.

Please advise. Thanks!!!

I put my daughter down after her bottle around 9-10 pm depending and she sleeps for maybe an hour and then she's back up and fights going back down. At night when I give her a bottle , she will fall asleep on my chest after burping her and as soon as I put her in her crib she's wide awake. I am literally getting no sleep. She barely naps during the day so sleeping during the day is out of the question. I have tried the bath and bottle before bed , she doesnt really nap so that's not the issue, I am so tired , I feel sick.

I was given a baby shower and have some items that will never be put to use. I have two other upcoming baby showers to attend. Is it such a catastrophe to recycle those brand new, never used, unopened, gifts out?

I am in desperate need of a job, but my husband works all day and I'm at home with the baby. I want to apply at some restaurants and try to get a serving job, but I dont have a babysitter.

I wanted to know what other people about me just taking my daughter with me to apply for jobs, or would this just be a total waste of time and be considered unproffesional?

My 8 month old son has woken up the past couple of nights with a stuffy nose. He doesn't have any problems during the day time with it and he doesn't have a fever so he's not sick or anything. It just itches his nose and makes him too uncomfortable to sleep. We suctioned out his nose, the first night it worked but last night it didn't. And we finally just have to put him in his reclining stroller and recline it so he can sleep although he still doesn't sleep too soundly. We all sort of get this way at night I think because of allergies, but he's obviously too young for medicine so what are some ways I can help him so he can sleep?

She was born 3 1/2 weeks early. She's about to turn 7 months old (on the 14th) and she sits really well with support, but cannot sit on her own yet. She falls over to her side almost immediately. She also cannot hold her weight very well when you stand her on her feet.(of course with support from me or her dad). She is pretty tiny (weight wise) for her size. Should I ask her Dr. about this or is it normal for a baby to be a little slow?

Ok so, I have a 7 1/2 month old that has been sleeping in his own crib since he was 3 weeks old. He is starting to teethe and was having some difficulty going to sleep so I put him in bed with me and WhaLa! He went right to sleep. He has only slept with me about 5 times and he seems to like it. My husband and I both strongly agreed that he should sleep in his own room.
So now, My husband is in Iraq and wont be home until december of 08 (minus the r&r for 2 weeks in Feb for the babys birthday) There is a void in the bed lol so I have room for the baby. Should I let this go on, I know he is only going to be a baby once and I should enjoy every minute of it. He is my pride and joy and everything in it, but if my husband were home he would not be in our bed. I belive a marital bed is a place for a husband and wife to bond and is no place for a baby, but my husband is not here!!!
I nurse too so it makes it easier. Should I be doing this????
Thanks for reading!

My baby is 1 month old and he is currently with his mom (my wife) at their home. She would be coming back at my place in 15 days.

I have a german spitz dog who is pretty healthy. What are the risks associated for an infant around a dog.

My dog does lose lots of hair and could that be a problem.

If you know any good articles dealing on this subject, please let me know. My ped told me that it is very risky to have a dog around. I am concerned.

I have been pumping to relieve the pressure of the excess milk but now I think my body is producing even more milk than is needed. I can't go from 1 feeding to the next without expressing some milk or pumping because it's really uncomfortable and my son can't latch on if I'm too full. What do I do?
