Its quite normal but annoying, I bled for about 8 weeks afer giving birth, they tell you so much about what to expect during labour they tell you nothing about post partum (blleding after pains engorged breasts etc) thats why forums like this are very useful as they are anecdotal.

I was still bleeding six weeks after the birth of my first child. Then it stopped for a few days, and then started again. But that was my first period.

As long as it is not extremely heavy and you're not passing huge clots, then you should be fine. I bled for 8 weeks after giving birth. After that, I didn't have a period for 3 months before I was finally back to normal. Hormones do weird things to your body.

its usually about 6 weeks you bleed for after giving birth but i would mention it to a health professional especially if you're feeling very lathargic as you dont want to develop anemia. i would certainly get it checked out if you are bleeding heavily just to make sure that you're womb is ok and is contracting normally.

Because that's what happens. Hang in there it will be over soon.
I bleed for over six weeks.
If your having heavy bleeding, then you need to see the doctor. If it's light, don't worry it will go away soon

Dont panic its nothing to worry about after having my 2 children i bled for 7 weeks and when it stopped 1 week later i had my period. If you are worried see your gp or your health visitor they will advise you. Congrats on your bundle by the way.

Everyone is different...I bled for over two months and I had a c-section!! It's just all about your body....if you are concerned or if you're passing large clots call your doc.....also if you get dizzy when you stand up or feel weak all the time or if you're bruising easily make sure you go see a doc....one thing that helps is taking iron pills or start taking your prenatals again...thats what I did

Easy soulution for a test...Do nothing for a couple of days except take care of that sweet baby..If it lets up, it's because youre over doing it..Yes, at six weeks, it's very possible..You dont turn back to normal after six weeks, it's just that things sometimes get easier...So, rest and see what happens.

Don't worry - its not that unusual. When you go for your six week check, mention it. Are you sure it hasn't become a period recently, as opposed to the afterbirth bleed??
