okay im only a teenager and have no kids/or any on the way.
but on tv there talking about colic,all i know is its common in babies but im not even sure what it is?:S
someone explain please?

For my kids, it was like a belly ache or stomach cramps. Sometimes it was accompanied by diarrhea or vomiting. In the case of my babies, they had very sensitive stomachs and I had to watch closely what I ate while nursing. What I ate caused the problem. They outgrew it at nine months old.

The dictionary defines colic as "acute abdominal pain (especially in infants) ".
According to my son's doctor, colic is caused when a baby is born with an immature digestive tract. It makes it so the baby has a hard time digesting even the most perfect of foods, including breast milk, resulting in pain and gas. When I was nursing my son, my doctor told me to be very careful about what I ate so the baby wouldn't have as many problems trying to digest my breast milk. He suggested that if I switched to formula, I give my son a formula meant for very sensitive tummys. He also said the baby would outgrow the colic within a few months once his digestive tract developed more fully....and he did.

its a really bad stomach pain that wont go away and oftn lasts 2-3 hours.
horses get colic 2 and it can kill them, so dont listen to all the ppl who say that is "when ur baby cries for 248923 hours for no reason" cuz their wrong

Colic is the term used by doctors when a baby has cried for more than a few hours and nothing seems to sooth them.... it's a kind of "I-don't-know-what's-wrong-so-let's-just-give-it-its-own-name" kinda thing! :)

I am a teen as well 13 in fact and i know wat it is!
It is when a baby cries for no reasons. this can be solved by feeding them grape juice a special grape for babies.This helps calm them down but might not work for them.Colic is very stressful for parents and mustn't leave them to cry for more then 15minuets
