My son is the III because his sperm donor is Jr. and my daughter's name is Mandi because when I was a kid I LOVED the song Mandy by Barry Manilow and used to wish that was my name,so I always said that when I grew up and had a daughter I would name her Mandi,so I did. lol (you asked!)

My son's name is Stephen. He's named after my first boyfriend Stephen. We went all through grammar school together and then sort of went our own way during high school. I don't know where he went. When I was 18 I ran into him again. Really odd, chance encounter where my mother worked. He has just started there. We chatted for a bit, and he said "you aren't happy either are you?" I was really not surprised that he said that because it was true. We made a date for the following week-end just to go someplace for dinner and talk. He was actually engaged.
While at work that week my mother called me and said he had been killed in a car crash with 3 other people. I didn't believe it and would not go to the funeral. It took me 10 years to get up enough nerve to go find his grave site. It finally dawned on me that he was my soul mate and I would never get married or have a lasting relationship in this lifetime. I also knew that if I ever had a kid, his name would be Stephen. My son's father turned out to be a dick and I left him to his booze and dope when my son was one, never to be seen or heard from again thank you Jesus. They say that you either meet your soul-mate in your lifetime and don't recognise them, meet them and have a happy relationship or never meet them at all. I believe it. I also wonder where my son gets some of his characteristics from that I don't have nor did his father or grandparents. Probably distant relatives but I still wonder.

My son is Robert Andrew, because my wife has numerous Roberts on her side of the familyl while my mom's name is Bobbie. His middle name is a tribute to my grandpa.
I strongly recommend that all parents do the Yell Test when deciding whether a name is appropriate. If you have stairs, go to the foot of the stairs and yell the child's potential name:
"Robert Andrew [Lastname], get down here this instant!"
It sounded good, so we rolled with it. You don't want to trip over a name when you're chewing your kid out. Plan ahead, folks.

I am named Daria, my parent's were convinced they made it up but they didn't lol, and my little brother is Devon because my mom loved the name. I named my cat Sebastian because I love the name, and my first child, when she/he is born, is going to be Sheridon Carter if it's a boy, or Sheena Laurie Marie after my mother (Laurie) and my middle name (Marie) I don't care if my partner disagrees, it's my baby after all ;) he's not carrying it for nine months

My daughter is named after me. My name is Madilyn (following a long line of 'M' names) and i named my daughter Madisyn, spelt with a 'y' so it could be more like mine and more unique. The family middle name is Jule, pronounced Jewel, so I kept that with her also. I really like it but now that I'm expecting my second I'm kinda stressing on finding a name that will have just as much meaning for her, so if you have any suggestions...

I wanted Jordan for a girl or Jacob for a boy, but my ex didnt. He ended up picking our 1st son's first name and I chose the middle name. We ended up with Jordan Tyler (go figure, he used the girl name) When we had our second son, he still didnt want the name Jacob. Well I picked the 1st and 2nd name this time around and ended up with Damian Jacob...lol

Well I made a walking stick with my family tree carved on it. My name is carved into a seed. My wife's name is carved into the trunk of a tree. Our children were going to be the leaves. But our first baby died so i bought a metal plate that resembled a leaf and had the name of the baby etched on it. we named the baby "Arvore Que Falta" which means the "missing tree" in portuguese.

We named our son Roman Matthew because it was a strong name that not many people have. We don't really want names that are common. Matthew is my husband's (his daddy's) name and we didn't want a junior, so the middle name worked better.
Our first daughter's name will be Belle Lilly because my maiden name is Lilly.

We chose our children's names because of their meaning and because we liked them. We could never find any girls names we liked as well as the M names - so here you go...
Mattea Frances (God's Free Gift)
Mariah Cathryn (God's Pure Wind)
Madalyn Theresa (Strong Harvesting Tower) - she's the one with the temper too, go figure! You have to be careful when naming a child "strong tower"
Then we had our boy! We both loved the name Joel because we each knew a Joel growing up and they were both good, sweet boys and good friends. And yes, our Joel is good and sweet too! It was the right name!
Joel Zachary (Jehovah is the Lord who has remembered us)

My husband said he never ever wanted children. So when we found out I was having a son, he was astonished. He named him Malachi, He is my little messenger. We both picked Thane for the middle name.
We picked both because of the strong meanings.
