Our boy goes to sleep around 9:30 and drinks a good Flrmula bottle. He lay him in his bed, and every night around 11:30 he wakes up screaming. All we usually have to do at that point is put his bottle back in his mouth and pat his butt. Then he usually wakes up around 1am and acts like hes up for the morning. We lay him next to us and he will eventually go back to sleep but not for long. He then wakes up between 3 and 4am and screams his head off, even if his eyes are shut he just screams.

We have tried everything we can think of to stop this and we have ran out of ideas. Please Help.

If you are wondering. He takes between 3 and 4 naps a day that last between 30 minutes to an hour and a half. And He is 1 week shy of bgin 1 year old.

thank you.

Well I think that maybe you should try cutting out his last nap so that he is good and tired when he goes to sleep. next I think that you should put baby cereal in his bottle to help him stay full longer. Also if he is teething this is going to last for a little while (the waking up in the middle of the night), but you can give him baby tylenol to help him feel more comfortable, remember to look at the botttle for the correct dosage. I hope this helps. Good luck!

He is napping too much. Keep him awake more during the day. He only needs 2 short naps or 1 long nap a day at this age. And don't let him go to sleep with a bottle in his mouth. That is really bad for his teeth. He'll end up with silver caps on all of his front teeth because you are letting him sleep with milk on his teeth. When he turns one you need to switch him from a bottle to a cup.

He's taking to many naps during the day. 1 nap or 2 is just for about an hour each. That should help out.

Poor little man. It sounds like night terrors. My son (5 months) gets them during his naps during the day (but never at night!). Basically, they are baby nightmares. It is strange that your son has them at the same time each evening. Maybe that is when his body slips into active dreaming.

At that age, he still needs 14-15 hours of sleep (although most year-olds get a lot less), but the majority (long stretch) should be at night rather than during the day. You could try starting his nighttime routine earlier, and shoot to have him to bed between 7:30-8pm. At that age, he should be able to sleep from 10-12 hours straight.

My question is...why on earth are you doing ALL of the work? Go ahead and assign your husband some Ruby responsibilities! At the very least, he can bathe her every other night. He can also brush her teeth and tuck her in bed! You're just going to have to show him how its done. Let him know that you are exhausted doing 100% of the parenting and you would like him to share in the everyday duties of being a mom and dad. It's very important that you get this under control in the near future otherwise, you are going to be doing everything from now on and it just isn't fair to you!

Stop giving that child so many naps in the daytime. He needs to be outside playing. Also, does he eat well? If not, he may be waking up at night because he is hungry.

i would eliminate these naps to 2 a day and i would make sure that he gets fresh air outside and maybe looking for other parents who have a child the same age maybe a playdate and i would ask your baby doctor and there are websites for this on baby and toddler care good luck my one grandson was like this it drove us crazy but we had to wait it out until he decided to stop doing this he was about 14 months when he stopped any history of ear infections?
