Newborn & Baby - April 2007

I have tried fruits , gabbage with some vegetables as adviced by the MP but yet very little improvment. What else can be adviced?

I have given her about an ounce of water since at this time I am carless and living on my own and cant get to the grocery store till morning. I have no one in the area to help me. Thats beyond the point. Anyway I hear that Prune juice or Pear juice works. Anything else that can help till I get to the store?
I called the ped and he says that having blood in a stool when there constipated is normal but I feel so bad for her she is straining all the time, crying, and today the only way she would sleep was in my arms curled up and it looked so sad. DO you think the water will help at all?
FYI: she was exclusively breastfed, I got a terrible sinus infection and had to go on antibotics, she had a severe allergic reaction and had to be put on Infamil Lipil only. Doc recommends I dont breastfeed till antibiotics are done. She was nice and regular untill now, now her poo is like brown and sometimes white and hard, poor baby I cant stand it.

i have a 7 month old and sometimes when we are in public, like for instance, at the DMV, i will have her in her carseat on the ground, next to my feet. little kids will walk up and try to touch her. what is a good way to deal with this? tell them no, obviously, but i dont want to seem mean or rude, to them or their parents. but i dont know where their hands have been!

He sticks his fingers too far in his mouth and gags and sometimes throws up. He does this ALLLLLL day long, not just after he eats, so I know he's not eating too much and making himself throw up. Any thoughts?

I have a 8 month old bub with a really bad runny nose, it started a few days ago ( he is getting his first tooth and there are no other symptoms besides a slight cough because of the nasal drip when he is lying down) I am currently using saline spray, as often as required, baby vicks on his chest and back and Dimetapp infant drops ( he unfortunately reacts to this, its like someone gave him a bag of sugar) and its not helping anyway. My son is 7 weeks old. He weighs 17 ibs/10 oz and is 26" long. He is a very big for his age. He eats 8 oz about every 3-4 hours. We are going through formula like crazy. Can we give him some kind of cereal to supplement his diet?

I gave birth April 5th, the lochia bleeding seemed to have stopped at little over 2.5 weeks (which lasted abt 5 days) recently I've started bleeding again. Would this be considered a period? I am breastfeeding so I thought my period would be delayed. ?

Im baby sitting a 1 year old and her brother just pushed her face first onto the tiles. She bled everywhere from her mouth (i think she but her lip or inside her mouth) Its stopped now and she is just cuddling me and sucking her dummy. I was just wondering if i should give her panadol or something? It was just her face and nose not her head so i dont think she has concussion or anything. I rang her mum and she said she cant get home for 2 hours but if she is stopped crying not to stress! she said she trusts me to look after her til she gets home then hung up (she is in a meeting)

I don't know if I'm going crazy but I always notice that something is missing after I wash clothes. Whether it's a sock or a complete outfit. I could swear that I've lost complete sets a lot of times. I remember buying my daughter certain outfits and then all of a sudden one day they're gone. Does anyone else lose their baby's clothes sometimes. I guess it could happen because sometimes you carry around extra outfits and stuff but is it only me or do you other moms go through this too?

I was formula feeding as well as breast feeding once a day my 5 week old baby. I have taken the breast feeding out coz the milk isnt any good, and his poo has gone from yellow and mustardy to green, horribly stinky and sticky. Is that just from the formula or the age or is it something wrong?

We are throwing a baby shower for my sister. Well, we are not planning on having kids under the age of 10 there, at the shower. Although, we do not know how to put it that in the invitations we are sending out. We just don't want to say-No kids allowed, that isn't very nice. We've tried everything to put her to sleep and our last resort ahs been to let her cry it out, the thing is I don't know what to do with myself. If I listen I want to cry too, if I don't listen I keep going close to hear if she is still crying and end up going up to her room so many times. Do you walk out of the house to avoid hearing, do you block it, do you put headphones on, what do you do!? I am going crazy here!

OK, well recently, my cousin's wife gave birth to an 8 pound baby boy and then 2 weeks later (this past Friday) my 5th period teacher's wife gave birth to a 9 pound baby boy.

So, is this a coincidence or are babies are heavier at birth these days when they're born?
