Im baby sitting a 1 year old and her brother just pushed her face first onto the tiles. She bled everywhere from her mouth (i think she but her lip or inside her mouth) Its stopped now and she is just cuddling me and sucking her dummy. I was just wondering if i should give her panadol or something? It was just her face and nose not her head so i dont think she has concussion or anything. I rang her mum and she said she cant get home for 2 hours but if she is stopped crying not to stress! she said she trusts me to look after her til she gets home then hung up (she is in a meeting)

Blood and falls happen my son has fallen a few times and trust me anything on their head including their mouth will bleed a lot. My son has fell and smacked his lip on the floor a couple times and his teeth made his lip bleed and a lot. But as long as you look at her teeth and none are loose, chipped broken whatever she should be fine. Maybe give her a popcicle to make it feel better, well you holding the popscicle and her sucking it haha or something cold to drink.

If she isn't still bleeding then she is probably alright. Once she is calm try to look inside her mouth and see if you can find where the bleeding was coming from. If she isn't crying then there is no need to medicate her. Try some cold juice or freezer pop broken into very small pieces. The cold will feel good, numb the area as well as reducing any swelling.
Again you need to find out where the bleeding was coming from.
I wouldn't worry too much over it if it has stopped. Mom will be home in a couple hours and more then likely the child will have long since moved on to something else that interests her.
If it continues to bleed you could always call your Mom to come over and take a look and see what she thinks. This won't reflect bad on you. It shows that you are responsible enough to know when you are in over your head.

I have a 2.5yr old who is always hurting himself,I know it makes you feel bad to see blood and the poor little thing crying but by the sounds of it you did all the right things by calling the mother,Just make sure no teeth are damaged and continue cuddling her she will be fine, dont give panadol without the mothers consent as it is a medication and she might have a allergy to it(my 7 month old does)

If the bleeding stopped and she stopped crying, don't worry about it. Wounds anywhere on the head and face bleed a lot but if she calmed down then she wasn't hurt that bad. Check her mouth to see if there are teeth missing (that were there before) or if there is a gaping wound but she sounds fine. Little ones crash and burn a lot, she'll be fine. Is Panadol a brand name for acetaminophen? She shouldn't need any medication and don't give her any unless mom said to but if you do don't give her anything but acetaminophen (Tylenol is the big brand name in the States).

i have a two year old and when he bumps his face or head i check to make sure his teeth are fine. if one eye dialates differently from the other or they start vomitting something could be really wrong. as long as those things are fine and the bleeding stops(they dont need stitches) just cuddle and give lots of love.

I would wait and keep an eye on her to make sure its nothing serious.Cuz if it is she would pass out and u dont want the panadol to mask that. If she seems to be doing ok you dont need to give her anything. But just use your mommy instinct.

i don't know what panadol is, but if she seems like she is ok, i wouldn't give her anything. probably should try to keep her awake, just in case. until the mom gets home. then, she can give her medicine or whatever she needs.just hold her and keep her happy.

I wouldn't give her any medication, but if she likes you could put an ice cube in a clean washcloth or towel and let her suck on that. Just don't let her get the ice cube into her mouth. The ice will help keep the swelling down.

Don't worry a part of growing up envolves bumps and bruises(having big brothers doesn't help...). It sounds like you have everything under control. If her mouth is still sore you can give her a cold wet washcloth, that will also help keep any swelling down.

You already called her mom and if her mom didn't tell you to give her anything then I wouldn't. She'll get over it. And what the heck is PANADOL? JUst don't give her anything and wait until the mom gets home.
