Here's the story. My son is 6 months old and has had trouble going to the bathroom since day one. From 0-4 months I tried different formulas and the only formula that didn't cause trouble was Similac (He has to take Lactose free due to a lactose problem when he was 2 months old). Now that he is on baby food and rice cereal it doesn't matter what kind of formula he takes--he really struggles to go potty. Sometimes he struggles for several minutes and has one small little "pebble" in his diaper. I have been giving him 2 oz of prune juice every day which helps a little. Will switching to baby oatmeal help? Any other methods to try? I have tried water and Karo syrup, doesn't work and since this is a long term problem, I don't want to give him syrup every day.

At what age is it all right for a baby to sleep on their tummy? My son is nine months old and now turns over onto his stomach several times during the night. He seems quite happy and comfortable. He is perfectly capable of lifting his head, rolling onto his side or back, or getting into a crawling position, so I assume that he is ok.

My daughter has been constipated since we came home from the hospital. She had regular BMs while we were in the hospital but after we came home she hasn't had one on her own. At times (mostly in the evenings) she starts crying and I can tell she's straining trying to go poop but nothing ever happens. She has really bad gas and we've used Mylicon drops to help that. I called the dr last thursday and he told me to give her dark karo syrup in one bottle a day and that if I need to I can give her 1/2 of a child's suppository. I've given her the syrup and it hasn't helped any. We've given her 2 suppositories and those are the only bowel movements she has had. She is fed mostly breast milk but due to not having enough breastmilk I've had to supplement formula for about 2 or 3 feedings a day. We go to the dr on Wednesday but does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing the problem?

I am a first time mom with a two month old. He is 16 lbs and 28 inches long...big boy! We have one of these in his beds and when he wakes up at night he is wiggled down in between the two wedges. He can roll from back to tummy but not the other way yet. I am scared that he is going to be wiggled down and fall asleep against the wedges and not be able to breathe. Is it too soon to discontinue use of this product?
