Our infant daughter was incredibly sick all of last week with severe diahrea which everyone chalked up to a stomach virus.

She literally started getting bumps on her back last night and today (her first day back to daycare in over a week) they called and said they thought she might have measles.

Now I'm reading where diahrea is a symptom.

Surely a "symptom" wouldn't be around for a week before onset of measles ..

We have an appt. scheduled for 4:30 with the pediatrician.

Just doing research in the meantime ..

She is one of a set of twins. Her sister's feet have a normal color. They have always been like this, since they were born. They were born at 38 weeks, by induction. The twin with the cyanotic feet was the second born, larger than her sister, and born via ceserian; where as the smaller twin was born first, and vaginal.

I received temporary custody of my 6 month old cousin 2 days ago. Last night, he woke up every 15 minutes screaming for his pacifier, which had fallen out of his mouth. To get him quiet, I would re-insert the pacifier every 15 minutes. He is teething so I understand his pain, but, I can't go through this every night, I have to rest for work. Is there anything that I can do to ween him from his pacifier in such a way that we can both get a good night's rest? HELP please!

My 10 week old seems to be having a mad couple of hours at about 6pm for the last few nights. She cries when you pick her up and put her down, the only thing that stops her is putting a bottle in her mouth. Problem is that in the space of 3 hours last night she drank 13oz of milk and in the same 3 hours the night before it was 12.5oz. All through the day she drinks 4-5oz every 3hours and is quite content, playing & smiling at us etc.

After these crazy tea time feeds, she cries for 10 mins in her crib but then goes to sleep for ages. Slept from 7pm to 4:30am last night, and for 7 hours the night before. In a sense this is great for us and I am thinking she would wake up if she was that hungry.

Sometimes when she is rooting and mouthing like mad for the bottle, she takes one suck, screams like someone is murdering her, spits the milk out of her mouth and cries. If you remove the bottle the whole process repeats itself immediately ?? Is is that she want to suck but not drink ?

A few days ago my 4 month old starting waking up hard in the morning by crying himself awake. Once he was finally awake, he would smile and look at the monitor as if nothing was wrong. But every day since then, the crying and screaming in his sleep has gotten worse. He actually shrieked during a nap today and was screaming in his sleep at 2AM last night.

I have read about something called 'Night Terrors' - does anyone have an experience with something like this?

By "other" I mean the oatmeal, barely, mixed, ect......... I would like to know in detail please! My baby is 4 1/2 months old and we have been feeding him rice cereal since he was 4 months old. He is doing great! He swallows and occasionally some comes out but he eats probably 2 TBSP once a day, with 3-4 oz of formula before the cereal to take the edge off his hunger first. (so his isn't screaming because he is so hungry) I read something about a week in between each one for allergy purposes, but I haven't been able to find to much info. and I failed to ask my doctor, and he doesn't see him until his 6 month check up. Oh and he doesn't have any health concerns or anything, so any answers would be fantastic! Thank you!

i'm not pregnant (that i know of, anyway)...but i'm a planner and since we are now trying, of course i have a ton of questions.

we live in a small space, and will live here for a few years before buying a larger place. i need good crib brand suggestions and/or where you purchased them.

we need an actual crib. as much as i would love the one that pulls up next to our bed, we have a cat that loves to sleep in our bed...i need something that will be kitty-free.

thanks!

My boyfriend and I have been discussing moving and we just found a great house. I'm 38 weeks pregnant with my first child and I really dont know what to expect. I wanted to know how hard or stressful new moms think trying to move would be. Is is something that would be worthwhile at this time? Or would it be too hard? We would have a full month at least to get into the new house.

I was told that I should not be nursing him during the night when he wakes and that nutritionally he does not need to eat overnight. The person who told me this says that he is waking to nurse out of habit, not because he is hungry and that he is using the nursing to soothe himself back to sleep. He actually sucks his thumb and he uses his thumb to soothe himself to sleep...I always thought he was just hungry. Currently he is breastfed and I have just started him on cereal but he is just learning to eat it so I don't think he actually ingests the whole amount. He will be 6 months old in one week and usualy wakes twice to nurse overnight.

I am 10 weeks pregnant and tonight I had a steak that was well, medium rare I guess. I was sitting in a place with dimmed lights so I didn't see that it was pretty well pink, not bleeding or red, but it was pink on the inside (the outside was cooked well). The steak was all of a 3-4 ounce steak and I ate only half after I realized it wasn't well done. Like I said it wasn't still "mooing" or bleeding and it tasted fine. It was cooked at a friend's house for a bbq, so I know the cut of meat was good. My question is will this make me sick (I ate it almost 3 hours ago) and more importantly will it hurt my baby since it wasn't well done? I feel fine, but I'm still worried about the baby as I know you are supposed to eat meats that are pretty well cooked.
