I am invited to a baby shower but I'm kind of iffy on going becasue the most of the people that will be there have money and bring nice, expensive gifts. My husband and I are barely starting out and we dont have a lot of money to spend on gifts. Can I please get some suggestions on what I can buy without feeling too out of place.

I'm not sure how to really phrase this question. I mean what's the minimum weight they will let a baby come home. Does it even have anything to do with weight if say the baby is about 4 lbs? What if the baby is about 4 lbs but is breathing and eating by itself. Would they let the baby come home?

My mom thinks Baby Einstein is the one and only baby product out there. But I'm wondering if I'm just paying for the name. There has to be something cheaper and just as good out there.

The daycare just called and said my daughter broke out on her face and neck in little red bumps. Now, she breaks out all the time (has very sensitive skin) so i'm not alarmed and teh daycare said it just happened.

We're out of the prescription HC cream that she got when she had infant acne. Is regular hyrdrocortison cream ok.

I think her script was either .2 or 2% cream. Thanks!

If the mother wants to give the baby her last name, but the father objects, can she do it anyway? Does the father's opinion have any influence on it legally?

P.S. I'm not in this situation, but I've wondered about it before especially with all the baby naming questions on here.

I know things like make sure he has a hat on, and baby sunscreen, and a drink, but what are some other things I should know? My son was born last May so he was pretty much kept out of the sun and kept as cool as possible, but this year I'll be taking him out to parks and stuff, so all of your suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

she used to have the cradles's cap thing and it has went away but now she has dry skin that is really noticable. A couple of people have told me to used Head n Shoulders or Selsun Blue but I'm afraid that it might burn or something. Has anyone ever used these on a child this young or does anyone have any other remedies?

thank you in advance

My 5 month old starting teething just after she turned 2mos old.

Before I could set a sturdy, nightly routine she went from sleeping full nights to waking up every half hour and it was a nightmare until we switched to formula which has her sleeping 6hrs on a good night then waking up every hour after that until we get up.

I give her one feed when she wakes up at night ONLY if she wont go back to sleep with bonjela (for sore gums) and shooshing and picking up if necessary.

The problem is her waking up at very early hours and seeming to be too distressed to fall back asleep or just waking up and wanting to play.

What is the correct course of action and am I doing anything wrong?

HELP ME?! Please help me. I am a single mom and my son's crib is in my room. He is breastfed. He still wakes up about 3-4 times at night, and he sleeps in my bed next to me. I just roll over and start nursing him and 5 minutes later he falls asleep. I would love to sleep comfortabley by myself in my bed. I am exhausted and don't know what to do. I don't put him in his crib because I'm so tired that I fear I might drop him or trip in the middle of the night because I am so tired. That is why it is just easier for him to sleep next to me, so I can just roll over feed him and go back to sleep. Did anyone go through this, any suggestions?? I think I am creating a monster because when he gets older I fear that he will never want to sleep in his own bed.

My baby is 14 weeks old. She only eats about 4oz at every feeding - I feed her about every 3 hours. She seems content and sleeps through the night pretty consistently.

I am pondering whether or not I should give her a teeny tiny bit of rice cereal in her bottle. Do you think this will be a good thing for her, or do you think that if she's doing OK without it, we can wait a bit longer? thoughts???
