My six month old is standing in his crib. Someone told me that he could develop leg problems. Is there any truth to that??

No babies will do what they want when they want.. you just might have an early walker on your hands.. make sure there is nothing in his crib that he can boost himself on and fall out.. good luck

LMAO am I right there with you!! My little girl (now 7 months old) has been crawling since 5 months, pulling up to stand on things since 6 months and now cruises around furniture. She is a disaster waiting to happen...into EVERYTHING, I had to baby proof long before I had expected I'd need to. Every morning (and sometimes in the middle of the night) I walk in to find her standing there staring sheepishly at me through the bars of her crib like a little prisoner LOL

There really is nothing to worry about as far as leg development issues...if he can hold himself up he's just fine. Babies all develop at their own rate and obviously he's ready for it...whether you are or not LOL!

No his legs won't be harmed at all. It just means you may have an early walker. My son started standing up on furniture and about 7 months, never crawled and was walking by 9 months unassisted. Babies do things at their own pace. Him standing in his crib just means he's ready to stand. Try putting him in a walker or an excersaucer to help him develope those muscles.

No I think my baby was standing up at 4 months. She is six now and only problem is she may have learned to user her legs too well now and she runs like Forrest.

I don't think so. My younger brother stood up in his crib at 6 months and started walking at 9 months. My 2 year old niece was the same way. And now my younger brother and his wife are always chasing her.

I don't know any truth to all that. But baby can walk at the age of seven months. So standing is okay. They have to stand before walking.

this is an old wives tale. the only way a baby legs can be hurt from standing is if you are forcing a very young baby to bear weight on his legs. If he is doing it himself, or if you hold their hands and they stand, there is no worry. If his legs weren't strong enough to hold him up, they simply wouldn't hold him up and he would fall.
