The daycare just called and said my daughter broke out on her face and neck in little red bumps. Now, she breaks out all the time (has very sensitive skin) so i'm not alarmed and teh daycare said it just happened.

We're out of the prescription HC cream that she got when she had infant acne. Is regular hyrdrocortison cream ok.

I think her script was either .2 or 2% cream. Thanks!

You should check with the doctor or pharmacist. We're just a bunch of cartoons.

I have used it on my children much younger than that to hold me over until I could get in to see the doctor. It should be fine, expecially since she has already been using a stronger dose. When you go in, make sure you ask the doctor so you know for sure next time you run out and may need more. That way you will feel safe applying it.

If she has already had a prescription for a stronger hydrocortison then I would think the over the counter would be fine (its the same thing just not as strong)

Over the counter is just fine. Or try some Aveno or get some plain oatmeal, make it into a paste and put it on her face.

I've only seen 0.5% and 1% in stores, so I'm guessing yours was .2% if she was a baby. I would get only the .5%, that's what my mom suggested when I had to use some on my daughter. And use it sparingly.

yes that is what my 8 month old son uses and we get the .5% from the doctor because they don't sell it over the counter.

It should say on the tube if it is ok for that age. I would think it probably is.
