she used to have the cradles's cap thing and it has went away but now she has dry skin that is really noticable. A couple of people have told me to used Head n Shoulders or Selsun Blue but I'm afraid that it might burn or something. Has anyone ever used these on a child this young or does anyone have any other remedies?

thank you in advance

My baby has a lot of skin issues, her scalp is one of them. Our doctor told us to wash her hair with Selsun Blue or Head and Shoulders. I bought the Selson Blue first but thought is was too strong, it seemed to make it red. So then I bought Head and Shoulders and it has worked great!! She is 9 1/2 months old. I have been using it on her for about 5 months. You just have to be very careful not to get it in their eye. I wash her hair with it everyother day. It has never irritated her scalp and her scalp looks so much better! If you are worried about it being too strong, start off mixing it with some baby shampoo and see how she does. I bet she will be fine though.

My son who is 4 months old also had really dry, flaky scalp. I asked his pediatrician and she recommended using Head and Shoulders twice a week. It cleared up after a couple of uses! Just make sure you don't get it in their eyes, because it's not tear free like baby shampoo.

I use baby oil on my 5 month old's dry scalp. I just put it on the the beginning of the bath and let it soak on there until the end of the bath. I usually have to use baby wash twice then to get it all out, but no more noticeable dry spots.

Only use selsun blue a couple times, and don't use much of it. Also make sure it doesn't get into her eyes.

Try using Aveeno babywash/shampoo to wash her hair. It smells like heaven too.

Put a few drops of baby oil in her wet hair, then wash her hair normally. I put a drop of conditioner in my baby's hair after I wash it, and she has never had a problem.

You may use less....my baby has TONS of hair.
