I am looking for some new ideas on organizing some of my newborns belongings. We live in a two story home, so I am pretty much having to buy two of some things, which has left us on a tight budget. First of all, I am putting her crib in our bedroom for a while along with her dresser. I am looking for some ways to organize some of her baby things like blankets, bath items, and especially diapers/wipes without cluttering. I don't have much room left, so something that could possibly stack? Same goes for downstairs beside her bassinet. Something fairly inexpensive that could organize diapers and things. My next issue would be night time feedings. I want to bottle feed, but after a C-section, going up and downstairs multiple times during the night could be dangerous. Any ideas on storing formula and making/heating bottles during the night from upstairs? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! : )

I have a couple of questions for those of you who can help, about what's consisdered normal etc....first of all how often can I give him a bath. I do it every other night now, but it seems to calm him and I would like to every night, I just don't want to dry out his skin. Also his diapers seem to leak now? I have moved up from the pampers swaddlers, which I loved, to the pampers bigger size, but the seem to droop in the bottom after a while, and he pees out the sides and gets his outfits wet on the side? And how often should he be sleeping during the day/night, daytime it's about 3-4 naps about 45min-1hr long? and he ALWAYS wakes up crying? And at night he sleeps from about 10pm until 2-3am in the 1st stretch then he's up AGAIN around 5am then about 7 or 7:30am. Should he be sleeping longer? And he always eats at his wakenings (he's breastfed too by the way!). Some help would be MUCH appreciated with theses topics! Thanks!

Due next month, I live with my fiance and mother so its not that I will be alone and looking for help when I realize I need it. This is my first child. I know many people love to come see new babies. Is it ok to not want this right away and how does one politely say this? I know some people will find it offensive unfortunately. My friend just was bombarded by visitors and her newborn got pretty sick. Should I just let them come and get it over with?

i just want to know how many people agree with me......i think that when babies are born addicted to any drug, be it alcohol, pot, pills, heroin or anything that the child should be automatically taken away from the mother and the mother should be charged with attempted murder, or at the least child abuse because both of those is what it is. If the mother doesn't care enough to take care of a baby while it is inside of her then what makes anyone think she will be fit to take care of a child at any age . They should first check to see if the father is in the picture and make srue he is fit to have the child and if not put it in states custody or up for adoption. There is no excuse for any child to be born into this world addicted to drugs. This world is hard enough a baby should not have to go through withdrawls , that is terrible. anyway, i wanted to know how many of you agree with me and if you don't i would like you to explain why.

My baby wants to eat like every 2-3 hours regardless of how much he ate before (whether 3 or 6ozs). I'm trying to hold him to a 4 hour schedule, but I can't seem to do it and keep him happy. I'm also worried about over feeding him...the formla can says to not exceed 32oz in 24 hours, but he would totally do that most days if I let him. Books say to not overfeed, and to form a schedule, but then contradicts by saying to let the baby be the guide and feed him when he's hungry!! ahhhh!

Do you have any advice for me about this? and...do you think I should worry as much about going over the 32ozs? I don't know what the reason is for this.

I got pregnant and said I was going to bottle feed untill I read the advantages to breast feeding. Bought the pump, nursing bras, pads, milk bags ,and containers for storing the bags in the freezer. I was all ready. My daughter was born and the Doc said she was tongue tied. they clipped her skin under her tongue and she wouldnt latch on to the breast and I pumped. i tried and tried to get her to latch on. The breast feeding consultant came to my house twice and nothing. i pummped untill yesterday. Im only producing 4 oz milk every 4-6 hrs. Ive tried pumping more and nothing. Ive gave her breast milk for 2 months and now that shes eating more i have to put her on formula. Im really sad because I had to feed her from a bottle and now Im giving her formula. why is it so easy for some people. When Im in the store buying formula I feel guilty. They look at me like Im a bad person for buying formula.

She told me to get him Children's Dimetapp, becuase he has an ear infection. The problem is, he's 7 almost 8 months old. She said to only give him 0.4 ml becuase he only weighs 21 pounds, but i dont know if i should or not. Ive heard stories about babies dying from having Children's Dimetapp and Children's Tylenol Cold and Cough, even when a doctor perscribed it. So, has anyone give this to their child under age 2 or even 1? What happened? Should i do it?

Also, if i can give him the dimetapp, should i still give him Infant Motrin or would they interact with each other? Thanks!

I have a baby, she is almost 3 weeks old. She was on Enfimil Pro Sobee, about 2 weeks ago she became very fussy, we and the Dr realized she was becoming constipated, he changed her to Similac Neosure, that just made her vomit. So now we are trying Nestle Goodstart Soy formula. Basically I want to know a few things. Isnt the nestle soy and the prosobee pretty much the same thing? Has anyone had a baby that had to have a soy based formula that got constipated, what type of formula worked? I dont know what to do. She cries whenever she is awake, she was happy yesterday after having a suppository and then a bowel movement, but now is fussy again. Please help!

My baby girl's dad is from India, he is not dark skinned but has very black hair. I am caucasian and very white with strawberry blonde hair. When she was first born she had jet black hair. Now she is 3 weeks old and its got a reddish brown color to it. Will it lighten as she gets older or darken back to black again? I am getting conflicting answers from family. Most people say it will darken with age.

I had my baby girl on March 29, she was born with some significant marks on her face called Stork bites or Angel Kisses. They are on her forhead, eyelids, nose, and upper lip. I was very upset and concerned about them since they were pretty red. The doctors and nurses kept telling me they are normal and common and will fade with time. Though other people have said they might stay and she will need cosmetic surgery. Does anyone have kids that had these and how long generally did it take for them to go away. Did anyone have to have cosmetic surgery for them?
