I have a couple of questions for those of you who can help, about what's consisdered normal etc....first of all how often can I give him a bath. I do it every other night now, but it seems to calm him and I would like to every night, I just don't want to dry out his skin. Also his diapers seem to leak now? I have moved up from the pampers swaddlers, which I loved, to the pampers bigger size, but the seem to droop in the bottom after a while, and he pees out the sides and gets his outfits wet on the side? And how often should he be sleeping during the day/night, daytime it's about 3-4 naps about 45min-1hr long? and he ALWAYS wakes up crying? And at night he sleeps from about 10pm until 2-3am in the 1st stretch then he's up AGAIN around 5am then about 7 or 7:30am. Should he be sleeping longer? And he always eats at his wakenings (he's breastfed too by the way!). Some help would be MUCH appreciated with theses topics! Thanks!

Also how often should he be pooping now? He used to about 7-8 times/day now it's like once or twice, and it's just kind of like liquidy not solid yet? He is breastfed though, and it's yellowish/orange still.

You should give him atleast one bath every day or two and when you go somewhere such as Church or someone's house. I think it will be okay if you give him a bath a night time since it'll help him relax and get him to sleep. Also, you should buy some skin lotion that is safe for babies, but only give him a small amount such as a dab. I know that there are diapers out there now that are leak proof, but they will cost more, but they don't have too many diapers in them like the regular kinds.
Your newborn baby should take a few naps throughout the day, and it will feel like he is always waking up at the strangest times, all babies are like this so don't worry.

I have raised and breastfed 4 kids. Don't worry, everything you said he is doing is completely normal!

It does sound like he is kind of hungry though. It is so hard to know how much milk he is getting when you nurse, but breastfeeding is the very best for him. It is also hard to keep your milk supply built up enough to keep up with his growing demand.

Ask your doctor if you could start your baby on a few spoonfuls of baby cereal. (Start out with rice cereal first.) If you give him some cereal, mixed with water or formula, in the morning and before bed at night, I am sure he will sleep better for you. Also, if he does well with the cereal for a week or two, give him some babyfood veggies and fruit at lunchtime and with cereal too.

Just try a little at a time. Never give him more than one new food per week. That way if he's allergic to something he eats, you will be able to know what it is right away. Also, if he doesn't seem to be getting enough milk when you breastfeed, I mean if he doesn't seem full, nurse him more often and your milk supply will naturally build up. Also, don't be afraid to offer him a little formula once in awhile, if he will accept it. He won't quit nursing, but he will sleep like a log!

Note** If you start him on some food or formula, his dirty diapers will begin to look different. That's normal.

As for brands of diapers and sizes, etc. I have no idea. My kids are all grown, so I'm out of the diaper market!

I gave my first daughter a bath every night as she really enjoyed it and it calmed her a lot for bed. I used a moisturising baby bath with baby oil in it and baby oil gel afterwards for massaging into the skin, and her skin was beautiful.
The nappy thing, have you tried using a different brand? Huggies are often a better fit on boys for some reason. Or maybe you just moved a size a bit early.
As for sleeping and eating at four months, sounds like he's absolutely spot on! Some babies, like my little weirdos, give up sleeping during the day really early and sleep all night, though they both stuffed themselves with about 3 feeds in the evening before bed at 8ish and breakfast at around 5am.
But every baby's different and as long as he's happy and growing he's doing fine. Just listen to what he wants and yor own instincts. Well done on the breastfeeding too by the way!

You should skip a day for new borns, bath himevery other day, or else their skin tend to dry up. Also try to put a little baby oil in the bath water it will help, if he has baby eczema there are cream in baby section you can try that. Hygiene wise you can just wipe only his bottoms, face and hands daily.
You need to also clean his gums with a clean wash cloth every night.
The way I train my son to sleep over night is to feed him as much as he can eat, every 2 hours during day, at night I completely ignores his cry. Unless he squeals, which can mean that he's in pain. If you're breast feeding him, I would add breast milk with a bit formula and baby rice power on his last meal at night, so he'll sleep more soundly and less hungry.
To your other question, baby poop about 2 times/day on formula, can poop up to 5-6 time when breast fed, the consistency is usually yellowish liquid with white pellets.

Hello- I have a 3 month old and have had similar worries. Everything you said sounds totally normal. Every baby is different. The bowel movements should change and as long as it is a good color it is fine. I give my son a bath every other day also. You should experiment with different diapers to find a good one.
Good Luck!!

My 4 month previous boy (my first toddler too!!) is likewise breastfed and has slept via because he exchange into 9 weeks previous. I bathe him each night as component of his recurring (bath, feed, cuddle, mattress) and use an toddler bubble bath - I additionally use Balneum bath oil as quickly as each week and this keeps his epidermis severe high quality and mushy. I provide him his final feed of the day mendacity down and discover it particularly relaxing for the two one human beings. this is extremely significant to have began a recurring by employing now i think of, and to stick to it - are you putting your son right down to sleep unsleeping? he would be greater probably to settle himself interior the night in case you do. Your wee chap could be waiting to start up some solids if he seems ceaselessly hungry (in spite of if this is not reported earlier sixteen weeks) - toddler rice blended with expressed breast milk and a few fruit puree is a robust one. As for nappies, i'm employing Pampers babydry and that they seem to artwork high-quality - be certain you have continuously have been given his boy bits pointing down the way or leaks will take place. i wish you hit upon a number of this slightly effective - i won't have the capacity to help with sunlight hours naps as i'm suffering slightly on the 2nd with that one myself. good success although - the night time sleep concern gets greater beneficial!!

You baby seems perfectly normal to me..you can bath him everynight just put some lotion on him if you start to see his skin drying out. A baby has their own schedule at first but will soon fall into a routine. just relax and enjoy him while he is young cause they grow up so fast. Good luck
