I am looking for some new ideas on organizing some of my newborns belongings. We live in a two story home, so I am pretty much having to buy two of some things, which has left us on a tight budget. First of all, I am putting her crib in our bedroom for a while along with her dresser. I am looking for some ways to organize some of her baby things like blankets, bath items, and especially diapers/wipes without cluttering. I don't have much room left, so something that could possibly stack? Same goes for downstairs beside her bassinet. Something fairly inexpensive that could organize diapers and things. My next issue would be night time feedings. I want to bottle feed, but after a C-section, going up and downstairs multiple times during the night could be dangerous. Any ideas on storing formula and making/heating bottles during the night from upstairs? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! : )

Okay I'll tell you what I did when my son was born a year ago. We slept downstairs on the sofa the first when with my son in the pack in play. After that he slept in his crib. He woke up a few times a night, my hubby would go get the bottle and I'd feed him. We used the liquid formula you mix with water, but you can use the powder so you can keep it upstairs, and keep bottles around. We had a bassinet in our room, but it was only used when I took a shower I put him in there. The best thing or organizing is the pack in plays that have the organization pockets on the side, but we used this plastic holder by Prince Lionheart for diapers and wipes. I would just get a cheap plastic container with a few drawers for downstairs to keep a few outfits, and blankets in. I wouldn't bother putting the dresser and crib in your room though. Get your hubby to help out, when he leaves for work in the morning, get him to bring you outfits and a few blankets down before he leaves, so you don't have to go up and down the stairs. Good luck!

First off I bought two of everything and it was a big waste of money, most of the stuff i didnt even use. You should really go over your list of things, things you want and things you really need. Think about it, when your done with it where is it gonna go and if you dont want clutter your just going to end up with baby stuff in every room and it will be a big mess. I know i'm going through the same thing right now. For the storage for babies blankets and diaper ex. baskets and the plastic boxes that fit under the bed work pretty good. About the heating bottle at night just get a bottle warmer and some have storage to keep the bottles cold till time to use.

Go to the storage container section of Walmart (or similar store) and you'll find Sterlite containers that are drawers. They're less than $20 each and you could use those both upstairs and downstairs to organize your diapers/wipes, blankets, bath items, etc.

As far as bottle feeding goes, by far the least expensive option is powder. But for that first week when its hardest to get around, you could invest in ready to feed bottles. They come in sizes as small as 2oz. You could also keep everything in an upstairs bathroom and mix and wash bottles there. You'll want to check with your pediatrician to see if you can use tap water for mixing or if you'll need "nursery water" or boiled. Another option owuld be to have hubby fetch the premade bottles from the fridge during the night.

I had the same problem. I went to bed bath a beyond, and got a 3 tier shelving unit. It was like 40 bucks, also got a set of baskets for 10 bucks. It hold all his blankets, bath stuff, bibs, burp cloths, etc. For diapers , I got a diaper organizer from babies r us, it's great, has side compartments for all his brushes, creams, etc. Hope this heps!!

Buy a seperated formula storage container and have the correct amount of powder in each section. A few thermoses with the right amount of boiled water in each. Sterilised bottles in a cold bag with ice bricks and just mix as needed.

Alternatively have them premixed in the downstairs fridge and send ur hubby down for them ; )
