is it safe to reheat the bottle next time if she has only had part of it?

If you put it in a fridge it last for half of day, if it's room temp it's 3 hours, if it's breast milk dump it, since it's not pasturized.

No it is not safe to reheat a bottle that the baby has already had. Once a bottle is over an hour old it needs to be thrown away if the baby has any left over. It is okay to make a bottle, leave it in the fridge, and then reheat it though.

Heres the rules of thumb I usually go by...

Room Temp. Bottles-

I make my daughter a bottle, she drinks part of it, If she does not finish the bottle in the next hour or so, it gets tossed. However, if she barely takes any, ie. she didnt want the bottle to begin w/, and only takes a sip, I'll stick it in the fridge. I heat it up for her if she drinks it the same day. I do not ever heat it up more then once.

Ready To Feed Formula That has Been Refridgerated-
Heat it up, and use it or dump it in around an hour.

So far this has worked great for me, and I feel like Im keeping my baby safe. Her Pediatrician had no complaints either w/ my bottle techniques. Good Luck!

my can says
formula heated up but not used yet can be kept for 2 hours
formula used and heated should be used in a hour then dumped
formula should not be reheated
the can or bottle could be out of the fridge or a cold area such as a cooler bag for a hour only

even if not heated it should still be used like i have said above

No. As you never know exactly how much the baby will take it's always best to just make up 2 or 3 four oz bottles and keep them in the fridge. If she doesn't drink the full 4 oz. within about 30 min. I would just throw it away because bacteria can start to grow (saliva from her mouth will turn the formula).

Because bacteria can enter the bottle during feeding, it is actually recommended to throw out any remaining in the bottle at the end of each feeding. If she's regularly having an ounce or more left at the end of each feeding, try making smaller bottles and if she finishes and wants more you can always get more.

I never followed the can of formula ( they are trying to make you buy more) when i had my baby the nurse that helped me said in that day when you make the bottle and only eats about half or whatever, the milk still good for 6 to 8 hrs, believing this at all time, then plp saying i/nurse was crazy. well my son thank God never had problems, today he still healthy. but check with your doctor.

No. Bacteria can grow in it.Next time only put 2 or 3 ounces in the bottle so it's not wasted.

I've heard that you can only keep giving the same bottle for three hours. After that the risk of bacteria goes up (because our mouths are full of bacteria).
