My 3 wk old must have at least 20-30min of rocking and nursing before she will go to sleep throughout the day and the night. She is also waking up after about one hours sleep lately and then needing nursing again! Does anyone have ideas what to do. When I put her in her cot she will cry uncontrollably until she is picked up.

My son is only ten months old but he has learned to arch his back and scream if I tell him no no or If he gets ahold of something that he shouldnt have and I take it, he will fall to the floor and cry like he is being beat! I dont use a mean voice or scold him I just give a firm no no...so i'm not sure if he gets his feelings hurt or what but He is my first baby but I feel like its too early for him to be behaving this way!! How do I handle a tantrum? Do I tell him no when he throws a fit even though thats what started the whole tantrum in the first place???

Getting ready to have first child in about 11 days, curious as to what other mothers are going through per month- or even week as far as number of diapers and how much formula. I know it varies from child to child, but just looking to gat an idea.

My niece lives with my parents and older sister, all of whom are indoor smokers. She just turned 1 today, and has gotten repeated throat infections. The doctor has issued written instructions that adults are to smoke outside so as to not harm the baby's health. They continue to do so regardless.

Myself and the parents (they're teens, don't smoke, but have no choice but to live there so they aren't directly harming the baby themselves) were wondering if we could report the smokers to CPS without having the baby taken away? Could they just fine the smokers? Is knowingly endangering the baby's health like this abuse? We live in California.

Thank you for any help.

when I breasfed my daughter it hurt me so much that about after maybe 2 or 3 months I gave up an switched her to the bottle & formula.
I had some really helpful friends that were nurses at the hospital and they said that I was doing everything right.
would it only have hurt for a little while or would it have always been like that until I weaned her from it?

I have a 8 week old baby, She has colic. At first she would only sleep in a bouncer, then she would sleep just fine in her bassinette, the back to her bouncer, now she loves to be swaddled. She is colicy. She will sleep for 6 hours at night if swaddled, either in her bouncer or bassinete. Now, i dont have a problem with swaddling her, but im worried about SIDS and what I always hear or am told " no blankets" When I swaddle her she is so tight she can not get her arms out at all, not tight where she can't breath, but she just loves it, she instantly starts cooing and calms down when I do it. Is it really that bad If i let her sleep bundled up, i wake up every hour to check her, im worried, i dont want to put her in her crib becuase of that. Has anyone else done this? Has your baby only wanted to sleep good swaddled? And how long was your baby in your room with you? HOw long is too long? If the blanket is under her tight should I stop worring?>? Thanks

I have 3 children. Charianna Rose- 4 Danielle Elizabeth-2 and Caroline Scarlett-5 months
There is a girl that lives across the street whose mom keeps telling me that she can baby-sit, and would love to baby-sit my children. The girl is 13 and will turn 14 in January. She seems very nice and her mother and I are very good friends. She plays with them sometimes. And the girls seem to like her... but she would be the youngest baby-sitter to ever watch them. How do ya'll feel about it??

I have an 11 month old who wants me to hold her and carry her around with me all the time, I wouldn't really mind except that I can't seem to get any house work done unless i put her down and let her cry which I hate and I can't carry her around because she weighs almost 30 lbs already. She probably wieghs so much because I'm sitting and nursing her all the time! lol
