I converted it to pounds because that's what we use in the US. That's 15.65 lbs which would put him at about the 65% for a 5 month old. My 6 month old weighs less than a half pound more than that. Sounds like he's doing great.

Well whether the weight now is an adquate weight gain is based on birth weight, so I can't help you with that. But there is an breastfed baby infant growth calculator with normal ranges here:
http://www.kellymom.com/babyconcerns/growth/weight-gain-calc-metric.html

As for how much:
"The research tells us that exclusively breastfed babies take in an average of 25 oz (750 mL) per day between the ages of 1 month and 6 months. Different babies take in different amounts of milk; a typical range of milk intakes is 19-30 oz per day (570-900 mL per day)."

So 28 oz is right in the normal range.

wow, my son is 5 months and 9 days he is at 18.3 oz, (2 weeks ago) dr says hes just fine. remeber all babies are different I can't stress this enough, you mention wieght but did not mention hieght therefore any information given here will be incomplete. you must go by both height and weight in order to see where your baby measures up on the avarage. and remember this is all based on studies to give parents some sort of ball park it is not written in stone. same for adults, I am 4'11 according to everything, my ideal weight is 90-100 lbs, if i weigh any less than 115-120 I look like I am dieing, of some god aweful disease.

According to my CDC growth chart; he is right at the 50th percentile.
Yes, that's a good weight; good job, Mom!
How do youi measure the breastmilk? Are you pumping it out and bottle feeding him? Whatever; you are doing well and he is thriving so why worry about it being enough? As long as he has about 6 wet diapers daily and regular bowel movements and shows growth, all is well!
