do you think i should take away my son's pacifier after he learnes to control his hands and use them for comfort? ( he's only 2 months). Or should i take it away now? He'll be napping and wake up wanting it.. it falls out when he's half asleep and it dont bother him.. but when he wakes up before naptime is over, he wants it back to soothe himself back to sleep.. Is it becoming a prop and a sleep associatioin? What should i do?

I need help deciding which breast pump to go with. I don't have a whole lot to spend and was looking at the ones that run around $50.

Are the electric (single) ones in this price range any good?

What about the manual ones? How do the manual ones feel on the hands? I suppose I"m afraid that my hands will become extremely sore (I think I have mild arthritis).

I will be pumping a couple times a day mostly just so I can have milk stored in the freezer for the hubby to feed and for daycare.

Any advice would be great.

My son just turned 3 months old on Sunday. Is that too early to start him on Baby Food. The doctor said last month, he wouldn't suggest it until he eats 6 oz of Formula and then wants more. Well, he's getting at that point. What do you think? I am going to start giving him baby Cereal this weekend. He already gets that twice a day mixed with his formula, has since he was a month old(doctors orders) he wasn't getting enough food then. But, what you do all you think about baby food at 3 months? and if so, OKAY.. then what kinds do you suggest? Fruit, Veggies, etc?

Especially after eating she gets alot of mucus in her throat, when she sneezes some comes out of her nose, I try to succion it but she HATES it and sniffs it back in, I cant call my doctor now since the office opens in an hour, is this normal in babies? SOmetimes she coughs to relieve herself from the excess mucus.. Otherwise she is a very happy baby girgling all the time and smiling very much no signs of fever at all..
Last doctor visit 2 weeks ago she was fine and the doctor said not to worry about the coughing that its normal from time to time to check for fever but she doesnt have any..

I posted an earlier question about by son’s pediatrician telling me to stop breastfeeding because I was taking Amoxicillin and my dentist also telling me to supplement because of my tooth infection. I have been exclusively breastfeeding my son for 11 months and had to stop cold turkey when given the news. I am still expressing and will continue in a week but the breast milk Nazi’s all decided to answer my last question and told me I should not listen and continue breastfeeding. My question is not so much the amoxicillin as much as the tooth infection? Can it really pass through the bloodstream to the milk and harm my baby? I am better off ignoring doctor's and dentist or should I supplement until the I am off the antibiotic and get the tooth fixed (1 week). Side note: he is having a hard time pooping on the formula and I don't want it him on anymore than the breast milk Nazi’s do but I want to do the safest thing for my baby ...which is.........?

Okay, my daughter has a middle ear infection, and three doses of amoxicillian since our ER room visit yesterday as well as motrin and tylenol. Her fever broke, but now she's clammy. She finally fell asleep for about a half hour since a 20 min nap at 7 pm. And except for a few equally short naps she has been up screaming since 3 am. At this point, I am expecting CYS to show up at my door soon, if not the cops, because my neighbors aren't getting along w/ me currently. But her earache seems to be getting worse, now shes grabbing her eye and the back of her head on that side. To get to the ER, I have to walk up a steep hill and cross a four lane highway and go a block over to get my mom's car. Then drive into town. She calms down somewhat with Daddy, and the poor child is exhausted, but as soon as she dozes off in our arms her head bobs and she starts screaming again. What more can the ER do, they already prescribed an antibiotic. Or should we call her doctor in the morning?

I have been breastfeeding my son exclusively for the past 11 months. I went to the dentist and was told that I have an tooth infection and to stop breastfeeding immediately until my appointment next week to get it fixed. He said the infection can pass through the blood stream to the baby. I am also taking antibiotics which his doctor told me can cause him to get a yeast infection, to make a long story short I had to stop breastfeeding him. Since I had no waring or saved bottles so I had to give him formula, Similac Advance w/ iron. He has been on it for 3 days now and has not pooped and is acting very different than he usually acts, crying for no reason, grunting which I am sure he trying to poop. What is the best formula for a constipated baby?

Hi everyone. I am breastfeeding my second child (6 weeks old) and I have developed a rather painful blocked duct on one of my breasts. I have been to the doctor and it is not mastitis, and she suggested to just keep on feeding from that side, hot showers, compresses, cabbage leaves etc. etc. My problem, however, is that I am doing all of this and it is not seeming to get better (about 4 days now, I know not a huge length of time, but enough when you are in pain!). I am trying to feed my daughter from the affected side as much as possible, but the other side is just becoming massively engorged all the time. I don't want to pump too much from the other side because I am afraid that it will just increase my production and therefore continue the problem, but if I don't empty it I run the risk of getting a blocked duct on that side too! Does anyone have any tips as to what I could do? I am at a bit of a loss :-(
Thank you everyone xx

I have just fond out that my 3mnth old baby girl has a very mild case of Torticollis, we had our 1st physio session yesterday and i was shown how to do her exercises to help the muscle in neck as she cannot turn her head all the way to the her right. This was caused by her position while i was pregnant. She didnt have much room to move, it was a matter of touch my skin and u could feel her and her heartbeat with your hand and hear it with your ear. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem???? i would like to hear how its going?

He's thinks that when we say no, that it's funny. He doesn't understand the concept. So when we try and show him how to be soft he thinks it's a game. He starts laughing. My face looks like we have a kitten, and we don't own any animals. Just a baby who likes to grab and scratch every part of your face. Help!

My daughter, who is 19, has a not quite 2month old (he will be 2 months on the 11th of June). She wants to go to the beach in Charleston, S.C. Now they are talking about getting an umbrella but it will just be my daughter and her girlfriend. And they are planning on going all day!
This past week-end we were there but I kept him with me at the motel. He has had problems since he was born with a bad wheeze and after him going into the hospital at about 3 wks we found he has reflex and we have to put drops down his nose before and after he eats to wash the formula down. Knowing this I guess I am really protective of him! But I know that he is her child. Please let me know if I am being a overly protective grandma!!??
