I grow up in the family with all girls, and I really want a baby boy. Is there any way to choose the sex of the baby?

There's a sperm sorting method that increases the odds of one sex to well over 90%. That's pretty costly of course.

You can supposedly naturally increase your chances by knowing when you ovulate and planning sex around it. Male sperm swim faster so having sex closer to ovulation will increase odds of a boy. Female sperm live longer, so having sex 2-3 days before ovulation should increase your odds of having a girl. That's the theory anyway. There are also methods that claim different positions can increase the odds of one sex over another. Again, because of swimming speed of male sperm, it is hypothesized that sexual positions that have deeper penetration (doggie style) will more likely result in a boy.

If you can find a doctor to do a test tube baby for you then maybe, there are so many things that they can do these days. But it is very very expensive. If you live in CA you have the most luck of finding a doctor to do the procedure for you. You can choose the sex,eye color and many other things if you are willing to spend thousands of dollars on your baby! Of course these things can't always be decided by you, the doctor can only give you a higher chance of the baby being a boy with blond hair and green eyes rather then looking like you and your husband. So keep that in mind when you decide you would like to spend a ton of money on the perfect baby, aren't they all perfect though?

If you want to go with a no costly method you can use the old chinese gender seletion method they have it on web md. Although of course its not gauranteed, it can increase your chances from 50/50 to more like 75/25. After you make an ovulation calander based on your menstral cycles and lengths it tells you what days during your ovulation you should have sex. Generally male sperm swim faster than female sperms. Female sperm live longer than male sperm therefor it makes sense to have sex closer towards the end of your ovulation cycle to the males reach the egg before the gals. It worked for me and my husband before its worth a try ;)

I think I've heard about something like this where you take different meds or something to change the sex of your baby when you are pregnant. I've heard it's extremely expensive though.

A less expensive, but less effective way is to try to have sex within 2 days of ovulation. Male sperm is faster so it will reach the egg sooner than female sperm. But it also dies off quicker so the closer you do it to ovulation, the more likely you'll have a boy. This is a good site:

If you have sex right on ovulation time, and I mean that day or within hours of starting to ovulate, your chances of having a boy are fairly good. Boy wrigglies are faster swimmers, but don't live as long and need to meet up with the egg sooner than the girl wrigglies. Good luck! That worked with my pregnancies. We got the timing perfectly and got the two girls and one boy that we hoped for!

There is no guarantee to chose the sex of your baby naturally, but here are some suggestions that may help:
-HAVE sex as close to ovulation as possible
-try doing it from behind (that favors boys)
- eat chocolate(don't ask me why but I heard that favors boys)
Male sperm seem to have a shorter life span than female sperm, but male sperm are faster so when you have sex as close to ovulation as you can you might have a better chance of having a boy.

Yes you can choose the sex of your baby, just have your partner have ALL of the sperm that carry the female chromosones surgilcally removed from his testicles and you should be able to concieve a boy.
Everything else is old wive's tales. If they were true my father would have fathered three sons and a daughter rather than four daughters, MY daughter would have a penis and be sporting a beard rather than having a vagina and pmsing once a month.

Yes! But it only works half of the time. lol

Having sex closer to your peak ovulation date helps (the day before and on the peak day). Avoid sex for 3 days before these two dates.

It's essentially up to the sperm to decide on the baby's sex. Any suggestions that tell you to have intercourse in a certain position or on certain days are just old wives' tales.

Nope. Unless you go through the whole "designer baby" process. Which probably costs a boat load of money. You have a fifty, fifty chance. Good luck
