I was surprised that other answerers said they did not like the system. I used it 12 years ago with my daughter, and I thought it was great. I am not good at describing things, so I found an explanation at a website, and I agree it is a good explanation (better than I could have done!)
"The unit consists of a large plastic container with a plastic lid. The system seals diapers individually in a scented film to protect against germs and odors. By opening the lid on the top of the canister, a soiled diaper may be inserted into the "mouth" of the container. After inserting the diaper, the lid is replaced and twisted 3 full rotations to seal the diaper inside. After the container is filled with dirty diapers, it can be emptied by unlatching the bottom of the canister, where the diapers fall out still individually sealed."

You box it up and take it back to the store. Get a regular diaper pail system. Those Diaper Genie things are GROSS!! P-U! They make these giant sausage links of poop smelly diapers!
When your baby/toddler poops, put it in a plastic grocery bag and put it in the outside trash (if you are lazy, like we were, you can just tie it closed and put it out the front/back/garage door until you can get it to the outside trash). Key is to GET IT OUT OF THE HOUSE. Use the regular diaper pail for just pee diapers.
