My 5-month old daughter seems to be very constipated. Her bowel movements are kind of infrequent, firm, and pellet-like. I've called a nurse and she simply told me to put a teaspoon of Karo syrup in her milk. I've done that, and it didn't do anything for her. Then, they said to give her prune baby food or 2 ounces of prune juice, but that doesn't seem to work either. She is getting very irritable, and my patience with these doctor's remedies is wearing thin. I just want my baby to feel better. I NEED HELP NOW! I would say at this point, I'm very desperate.

I asked this question under civil participation too, but i'm not getting very many answers. I figure someone else under pregnancy/parenting might have gone through this situation.
I am from Michigan and I got a letter to call in for Jury Duty. I'm not sure what to do in my situation though. I'm breastfeeding my 9 month old son and plan on it until he's at least a year old. He will only drink from my breasts..i've tried bottles and cups but he just wants his milk straight from me. Will I still have to go in for Jury Selection, I Hear that can take all day just for that. Do I call or write a letter to explain my situation?I'm also worried that going to jury selection that my breasts will get engorged/painful and my baby will not be very happy.

Was the baby born on the due date, a few days before or a few days after?

And did you go into labor naturally or were you induced by a doctor?

He was not there through my pregnancy. even after he rarely shows up. she had pneumonia at 2 months and it took him 4 days to show up and expected me to drop my pants ( which i didnt) She was in the hospital again at 4 months with internal bleeding and he never called or showed up.
He currently lives one min away from me and hasnt even stopped to check on her. If he does come over he doesnt hold her but prefers to glare at her. He is no longer welcome in my house.
He says she is not his so we have a paternity hearing next month. He said if she is his he wants to be able to see her. I know he is her father but what right does he have to treat me and her this way and then step in when he gets the results like nothing ever happened.
I want the test to prove she is his but i dont know if i want him around.
What should i do?

I have 20 month old baby boy and as far back as October he had a vocabulary of about 12 words. He is not saying anymore words, not even mama or dada. He does not repeat anything I say either. He babbles a lot and he is always smiling and happy and active and he does like to play with other babies and kids. I read to him and watch Sesame Street with him. We went for a hearing test this week and his hearing is fine. Dr. said I should get him speech therapy. I live in NJ and there is a program "Early Intervention" where they come to your house and do therapy if they think he needs it. Anyone know about this or have any experience with this. Doctor diagnosed him with "speech delay".

My wife is 16 days postpartum after C-section. She has had very little bleeding, until yesterday when she gushed and filled a pad in a matter of seconds and then filled the toilet. It happened again today too. She's also passing clots as well. Other than these episodes, she had experienced normal "period" symptoms. Are there any explanations for the gushing and clots?. Her nurse told her yesterday if she fills a pad once/hour she needs to go to the ER. It hasn't been that serious, but we are concerned.

my son is 3 months old, he has been swaddled every night since he was born. it's hot now and i can't swaddle him so he keeps starttling (starttle or moro reflex). so he ends sleeping near me, i don't like doing this because one night i found him on his tummy, don't know how it happened.to me it's safer for him to sleep in the crib.
so how can he sleep without being swaddled?

It has been 6 wks since I gave birth to my beautiful son. He was a healthy 8 lb 13 oz. 47 hours of labor that ended in a c-sec. I am very blessed that I have something SO wonderful! However, I find myself very depressed ALL the time by how I look. I see my son and it was all worth it but I would like some tips on how to get back in shape from a c-sec. I was 130 b-4 preg, at delivery I was 186!!! I am now at 160 and am hating to see myself. I tried to do small things to make myslf feel more attractive. i.e.- getting hair done, tanning ect. I am only consuming about 1000 calories tops a day and I never have time to sit. I am always on the go! Taking care of my baby, house and with the running around @ work and the scale wont budge!! Can someone please give me some tips on how to get my prepreg bod back!! I really hate how I look and I get picked on by everyone I know for being "FAT" I need some advice!! I just dont have time for a workout in my busy schedule!

My daughter has a bit of a flat head on one side (positional plagiocephaly) because she always sleeps with her head to one side. The doc pointed this out when she was 2 months and I have been trying hard to make her have a ton of tummy and up time during the day. I thought the flat spot was getting much better, but her pediatrician said there is still enough flattening to consider having her fitted for a helmet. I really don't think her head looks that bad. It's not really that noticable. I was thinking about trying for another 2 months to reposition her when she sleeps and keep up with the tummy time, and then see if it improves. She hates sleeping on her side or tummy, but should I just force her anyway? I think I'd rather do that than having her wear a helmet until she's 1 year old. Anyone else had this dilemma? What did you do? How severe does the flatness have to be to really need the helmet?

I am 4ft.tall mother whose baby was born in October 1968. I carried to full term and he has not got OI. He was born by C-section iof course.
At that time I was told that "we don't know how we'll go with you, because we do not have anything to go by."
I would like to know if I am/was a pioneer in this area of medicine.

I usually buy the name brand ones because I really haven't had much luck with the generic ones i have bought either the tabs fall off or they leak or my daughter breaks out from them. Any way we are having finacial problems (due to gas prices) so i can't afford the brand name ones any more. So what kind have you had success with? Thank you!

BTW: my daughter is 9 months if that matters and is in size 4.

My granddaughter was born today with her left leg turned the wrong way at the knee. It looks like her knee cap is on the backside of her knee and the bottom part of her leg is flipped up by her chest. Evie is absolutly beautiful other wise. The Dr. said she is healthy other than her leg. I can't imagine what this baby will have to go through to be able to walk someday. I am aching from the core of my being for this baby.
