Let's put it this way...
I have never heard a man say "Boy, I wish my parents wouldn't have circumcised me." No man I've talked to has ever felt violated in anyway by being circumcised.
I have heard men say many times; "I wish my parents would have circumcised me." Obviously, not every uncircumcised man feels this way but I have met many.
My grandfather-in-law was circumcised at age thirty due to issues. [Not to sure if it was medical or personal---I don't want to ask! LOL!] He said it hurt so much more then had it just been done [and very quickly forgotten] when he was an infant.
I choose to circumcise my son. I wasn't there when they did it. Is it necessary? Not really, boys can learn to clean it correctly. Is it 'normal?' Yes, most men are circumcised. It's your decision. Just factor in medical and social ideas and I'm sure whatever you decide will be good for your son. Best of Luck!

Circumcision is more socially acceptable and just not religous ritual anymore. It has an important purpose. I was after I was born and I don't remember any pain lol. It's cleaner and uncircumcised men can have problems and infections if they have below average hygeine practices, as most do. Don't deny your son a Maintenance free life and the stigma of being different than the rest of Society, it'll just force him to maybe do it later and it will hurt and he will remember it! G'day Ladies!

I had my son cirmcumsized because if not there is a greater chance of him getting a infection later on. And yes it will hurt a little bit but they usually are excellent about distracting the baby so that it doesn't hurt as much, it will also look much more normal and will be more comfortable later in life

We had our son circumsized when he was born for the main reason that his father is, so we wanted him to be able to see that he was the same as him! As far as if it hurts, we spoke to our OB/GYN about it- she is the one who does the procedure, at least here where we live because the pediatrician told us they don't do them for insurance reasons. Anyways, they numb the area with a numbing lotion, and then it is done. My husband said our baby didn't even cry! So, I guess the numbing lotion works. I would do whatever you feel is in your little one's best interests. Just remember that if you don't have it done, then he may feel "different" when around other boys, and I think it would be worse to have to get it done as a teenager or adult!

I'm not circumsized and i'm 26. i've never had any problems with it and i think because of the extra skin its more sensitive. Besides from the women i've known and been with they prefer it uncut. Let him make the choice to do it if he wants. Its there for a reason.

As a woman, I prefer circumsized.
My husband didnt get it done til he was 14, so he has experienced life both ways. He MUCH prefers being circumsized.
Babies are known to forget pain very quickly. Their little brains are designed to block that stuff well.

I think it does hurt but not to the point to where it's going to seriously hurt them. When he gets older i heard it's a very very back pain and you should do it when he's a baby. i had them do my son and i think he'll be happier in the long run. But that's your decision.

Ouch! Very painful and a totally unneccessary surgery. I have a boy coming at the beginning of July and he will NOT be circumcised. They say it takes away sensation. Read the info at this link for more info.

babies have nerves too, if you cut off an area of their skin they feel it...
in some ways it's almost as cruel as docking a dog's tail...
and does it really matter if you have foreskin or not?
humans generally don't walk around with it on display (except in nudist communities) so weither your son does or doesn't have it it matters not...
he has just as much chance of finding someone to live happily ever after with when he's grown up either way...

Of course it hurts!!!!
Personally, I wouldn't circumsize my baby boy if I had one, they are debating whether or not the removal of the foreskin desensitizes the penis. I would rather not take the chance of that for my child. It's aesthetic, and honestly......if you teach your son to be confident and satisfied with his body, whether or not he has a foreskin won't matter.
