My newborn son eats every 2-3 hours, but I am also trying to pump and store milk for when I go back to work. Any suggestions for how to make this work out without spending my whole day nursing and pumping. also my son takes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to feed.

In the beginning, my baby dropped quite a bit of weight when I was breast feeding exclusively. He dropped more than the recommended amount so (per the Dr) I began supplementing with formula. I am now giving him 4-4 ounce bottles a day and then demand breast feed him every 3-4 hours as well. He has been gaining well.
He has been doing great with the Avent Naturally bottles/nipples and switches easily to and from bottle to breast, but the past two days when he is alert and hungry he latches on well, but will latch off after about a minute or two and appears frustrated. He nurses fine when he is sleepy though. I am afraid my breast feeding days will soon be over because of possible nipple confusion.
I think the bonding of breast feeding is awesome and I want that for my baby, but when I pump both breasts I only get enough for a 2oz bottle. Can I return to strictly breastfeeding (so as not to cause nipple confusion) while pumping so little? I have heard conflicting advice.

hi, i am breastfeeding, only 5 weeks now, and have just started to pump. is this normal - that one breast pumps triple the amount of milk vs. the other? the second part of my question is, is there a normal amount of breastmilk that is pumped on average? (it takes me about 45 min just to pump 4 oz. ... it feels to me like i should be getting much more milk than i am) any ideas?
thank you for your input.

My daughter is 6 months and has been having gerber stage 1 food for 2 months is she now old enough to start stage 2 gerber food? The difference between stage 1 and 2 is the thinckness (which I know she CAN handle) and the ingredients.... strawberries, mango, pinapple, blackberries, blueberries, corn, cherries, and stuff like that... so what I need to know is can she have those ingredients?

My daughter who is 15 months old has skin tags or something around the opening of her vagina. She has had them since she was born and her doctor said that they would go away in a couple of months yet they are still there. I have recently moved and my daughter doesnt have a new pediatrician yet and she doesnt need a checkup for a few months. So I am wondering what for sure it is, if it will go away, and if I should bring her to a doctor before her next checkup? Only serious answers please!

I have a nine month old son and he loves to play outside in his swing. We live close to a creek and there always seems to be mosquitos everywhere. I have previously just kept him pretty covered up, but seeing as it almost summer time that won't be as good of an option. I know there are tons of baby sunscreens out there, but I haven't seen any bug repellent. I did see some sunscreen with mosquito repellent in it, but it said for "the whole family", not really specifying if it was baby safe. Does anyone know of any products that may be useful?

can you help?

i've been using water babies in the pink bottle, SPF 50.
BUT, he always seems to rub it in his eyes and it makes his eyes all red and puffy. poor kid.
i try to keep it away from his eyes and i try to keep him from rubbing his eyes (see, it gets transferred b/c it's on his hands and arms..)

so, any other brands to try?

thanks!

He always goes for the things we tell him no to. The bookshelf to pull down books, the entertainment center cupboards, climbing the stairs, toilet paper... I tell him no and slap his hand. sometimes he cries, sometimes not. When i say no, sometimes he laughs!! But when i start walking near him he'll run away from what he's doing cuz he does know he's not supposed to be there. But he always goes back!!! How do i teach him better?

She is 6 weeks old, does anyone know anything that will help?!?! She is on this formula now by Enfamil called Nutramigen. I dont like it and I dont think she does either, it doesnt seem like its filling her up. Any suggestions?!?!
