it's perfectly fine just put a pillow on the other side of her to make sure she doesn't roll off.

I have fed all four of my children this way when they were little. Especially for the middle of the night feeds. It is so comfortable. If you lay your arm out straight (the arm on the same side as the breast you are feeding from and baby and lay on that side) it is impossible to roll on your baby. The first few times your arm gets a bit achey, but you get used to it. Usually I would gently then lay them back in their own bed, but often I'd fall asleep with them. It is such a precious sweet time when they are little. My babies never had any problems with sleeping in their own beds and my youngest was sleeping through by 10 weeks!! So don't worry about that. I believe it brings a lovely closeness to you and your baby. They grow up so quickly, believe me! If it works for you, do it.

Yes. Absolutely. Research shows this enhances the nursing relationship - probably because you get more sleep.

You just want to be sure there are no heavy blankets that could cover her and no pillows that could move over her. I always slept my baby's head up on the front of my shoulder, my right arm around him. It was blissful.

Plus, you always know how baby is doing.

Yes, the same brain mechanism that keeps you from falling off the bed keeps you from rolling onto the baby. Go ahead, it enhances your relationship and is good for you both.

Of course! I do this every single day with my BF baby. It helps calm him when he's over-tired, and I usually fall asleep while he's eating, too - it's a nice chance to catch some Z's. Enjoy!

yes it is. Infact, it is one of the positions taught in a breastfeeding class i took in the hospital. just make sure it is comfortable for both him/her and you! And if he/she seems agitated stop! simple as that, what works for you and your baby is all that matters. and keep up the breastfeeding! It is so beneficial for both you and your little one!

Absolutely!!! In fact, to help my kids nap, I would lie with them and nurse them to sleep. Some women, right after childbirth, find it easier that way when they are healing!
