Hey,
My cousin inlaw had a baby at 30weeks but he was acctually measuring 24weeks...
he weighed just 750g.
He is now 1 and a half and all that is wrong is he is a little bit mentally behind like he has just started to crawl 2days ago!
But they say that by the age of 5 they have mentally caught up to a 'normal' 5 year old.
At 34-35 weeks your baby has almost as gooder odds as a baby born full term.
Maybe your baby will just have a little breathing or eating difficaulties but bubs would usually be home within a week of birth!
Goodluck and try not to stress...

I work with premature babies, and babies born at 34 or 35 weeks have a very high rate of survival, there would have to something else going for that child not to survive. The baby would stay in the NICU probably a week or two and may require an NG tube for a little while, and may needs the light therapy for janudice. In the long run they would be fine. After 28 weeks babies usually do not show any cognitive impairments. Although the baby would most likely be breathing on its own, their lungs would still not be developed, and you would have to be very careful int he winter months of RSV, a sickness that most babies get, but in premies can cause pnemonia.

Many babies are born at 34 weeks and are just fine. My best friend had her baby in November at 30 weeks just 800 grams and now she has a happy healthy 8 lb 10 oz baby. No health problems at this stage. By the way 37 weeks is considered full term now days so yours would only be a little bit early.

My BF had her baby @ 35 weeks and her DD is now 3 and great. If you do go into labor they might give you a shot. Also walk around take a warm shower. You could have braxton hicks contractions. Those are normal! Your baby should be fine maybe a day or 2 in the NICU.

My twins were born at 34 weeks, since I went to the doctor before 34 weeks they tried to stop the labor (iwas at a 4)and injected me with steroids for the babies lungs for 3 days. then i had to have a c section because of double breech, and my contractions would not stop.
anyway... they spent only 2 weeks in the nicu and were almost 5 pounds a peice.
if you think you are having contractions steadily go to your doctor they may be able to stop the labor if in fact you end up in labor.

At 34 weeks and 5 punds he will be ok. I agree that he will probaly stay contained in the medical institution a touch longer and could be hooked as a lot as all styles of fetal video exhibit contraptions yet it truly is basically to ensure that each and everything is nice earlier he is going residing house. pass success you'd be nice. My cousins were born 2 months premature weighed about 2 pounds apiece and are both 20 year previous college scholars in the present day.

My son, now 18, was born at 33 wks. He spent 14 days in the hospital and then came home with me.
Are the contractions real or braxton hicks? I never had BH contractions, but I understand they can be unnerving.
Whatever, if you are worried, go to the doctor, labor room, or even the ER and get checked out. Better safe than sorry.
With my daughter, I went to the labor center 4 times before my water broke!

My cousin was born at 32 weeks. She stayed in the hospital for a few weeks. She was tube fed, because she had not learned how to suck yet, but other than that she was perfectly fine. She is still a little behind in height and weight, because she only weighed three pounds when she was born, but she is catching up. She's 5 now, and starts kindergarten this fall, and is well ahead intellectually.

you could be having brastin hicks contractions.if you do go into labor.true labor.the dr.can stop it.i went into labor 3 xs with my daughter.2 were false labors the third i was in true labor.it was about 4 wks early.the dr stopped it and i didnt go into labor until two days before her due date.if your contractions become regular or painful call your dr.dr.s will try and keep you from going into labor too early.if you do though you are far enough along the baby might have to be in an encibater in icu for a little bit.but that all depends on the development of your baby.all its organs should be developed and now mutureing, congrats and good luck.it should be fine

I had my son at 35 weeks and he ended up having to go to the NICU for 15 days for RDS. He weighed 5 lbs even. I had my twins at 34 weeks and they too were in the NICU for 15 and 17 days. All three of healthy now. You wouldn't know to look at them that they had an "early" start. GL!!
