Do you know what Polio contains... And how your child can get Polio?

Also if Polio is the thing.. then why not just get the shot for Polio only?

Have you read on how these illnesses can contact your child?
May sound wack.. But parents that choose not to vaccinate depend on parents that do for no outbreaks.. Whether I have my child vaccinated or not, I'll keep to myself.

As a nurse and knowing what is in Vaccinations as well as the consequences, I would NEVER... I repeat ...NEVER Vaccinate a child.
I strongly suggest that UNLESS you are physically, mentally and financially prepared (most new parents are not) to deal with a disabled child for the rest of your life that you Educate yourself BEFORE you Vaccinate your child. Then you can make and informed decision based on what you are educated in, not what a doctor tells you.
If your Doctor or Clinic Physician will NOT sign this form: http://www.vaclib.org/basic/consent.txt
then I strongly suggest that he/she is telling you something that you don't know but need to learn!

My infant is only 3 mos, old. He's healthy, but many 3 month olds are healthy, vaccinated or not. As far as keeping him away from stuff, he pretty much stays away from everything right now. I stay home and I think if we had to put him in daycare or he had exposure to kids, we would probably vaccinate for Hib and DTaP, but he's not so we're delaying DTaP until he's older and by that point in his life, Hib won't be important. As far as Hep B and MMR, maybe ifyou have someone in your family w/Hep B it would be wise to start that and we'll personally be giving MMR in separate components when our child is older. The same with chicken pox and Hep B. I'd be careful with chicken pox if your child hasn't caught the actual disease by puberty because it's dangerous to some adults.
Schools don't REQUIRE your child to be vaccinated, there are exemptions in every state. I'd like to know how an American child is going to get polio unless they travel.

I stopped getting my daughter's shots at 12 months old. She is now over 2 years old, and does everything that normal kids do. I dont wash her hands a zillion times a day, I dont keep her away from sick kids. I dont worry about every little thing she touches. I beleive in allowing her to be exposed to germs so she can build a healthier immune system. Shes only been sick twice in her entire life, and they were only mild colds. She was breastfed for 13 months, and that really helped her immunity. I'm still not sure whether or not to get her caught up on vaccinations. There is a lot of compelling evidence out there for both sides, and I want to understand them both. I refuse to put something that is so potentially dangerous into my daughter's body until I fully understand the risks.

My children are no longer infants, but I have done my research and would never out that crap in their bodies.
We also do not rely on those that do vax to protect our kids. We rely on building their immune systems through breastfeeding and healthy living.
My dd was in school, we just signed an exemption. We homeschool, but still take swimming and other classes.
The live Polio vaccine is the one that causes all the cases of polio, thats why they stopeed using it in the US for the most part. But, it is way cheaper, so they ship it off to 3rd world countries to cause outbreaks there.

My husband's parents didn't get any of their 3 children vaccinated. As adults all three have chosen to get some, or all, of the vaccinations they missed as children. My husband never had chicken pox as a child, and finally got it at the age of 29 and it was BAD. I had them as a child, but I am so happy that I am able to get my kids vaccinated against chicken pox (my son didn't even get a mild case when hubby had it).
From what I understand, they weren't kept away from any activities as children

My aunt choose to not vaccinate her children for religious reasons which is insane to me but to each their own. She breastfed for the first year and then continued to give them breast milk till they were 2-3. They did normal activities like all other kids. The problem will be when my cousins start school and are exposed to many children who have been vaccinated which means they probably are carries of an illness which wont affect them or other children that have been vaccinated but will affect my cousins. I guess we will have to see.

Yes...if your infant isn't vaccinated...get him/her vaccinated. I know there are horror stories out there about kids who have awful reactions to the vaccinations, but what do you think their reaction to diptheria would be like? Right now in India, polio is coming back with a vengance, and the kids are suffering for it...not their parents who HAD the vaccinations, and then decided their faith in God would protect their kids.
Polio ISN'T the only thing. Rubella, Roseola, Measles, Mumps...tons of things that can cause brain damage and blindness etc...
Most schools won't ALLOW children to register unless they're vaccinated.

My unvaccinated 3 year old and 6 month old boys are very healthy. I have done extensive research and cannot justify injecting harsh chemicals and questionable substances into my children. And herd immunity is simply a theory, one that I do not believe in. They participate in all kinds of activities, and will be going to public school.
