My son never did take a bottle. I tried a bunch of times. I tried having someone else give it to him but it didn't work. He started using a sippy cup at about 5 months and very quickly decided he preferred that to the breast!

I had the same issue with my son. He is 6 months old now. I used a sippy cup for him. I'm not sure why he will take that and not a bottle but whatever. With my niece, she wouldn't take one because she had it easy. Her mom had constant letdown, so she didn't have to work for her milk. Like others suggested, try to have someone else feed her with a bottle. Good luck.

I breastfed 3 of my 4 kids and it is confusing to a baby to receive a bottle from their mom at that young of an age. Is there someone else that can offer the baby the bottle instead?

I'd try this... Have a bottle ready! Lye on your side and give your baby your breast, then quickly change it to the bottle. It might take a few tries, but it worked for me. Good luck!!!

Try having someone else give him the bottle and leave the room.. Even better go outside! If he can smell you, which he can if you are anywhere near him, he won't want a bottle! Good luck!

This may sound harsh, but... only give him that option. He's obviously not going to starve to death... he'll just get hungry and learn that the bottle is the new way of getting food. If you keep giving in, he won't be forced to learn anything new. Good luck!

try having soemone else give him the bottle, if he's in your arms he's gonna expect to have the boob, not the bottle.
