That is normal for her age. She is filling up her belly and getting needed cuddles before settling down for sleep. Nursing every 90 minutes or so usually means she is bulking up for a growth spurt. It's a good thing! Babies at this age need lots and lots of work and attention, this helps them learn that they will be cared for and that they are important. You are building self-esteem and laying the foundation for her to trust her self to handle things later. As she matures, she will sleep for longer and go longer between feedings and eventually will learn to go to sleep without the nursing etc. I promise you that she will not want you to nurse her and rock her to sleep at 15. Answer her cries quickly and they will lessen over time. You are tired, drawn-out and wishing for her to just sleep or something so you can have some time. We all understand, we all go through it. You can make it through it too. Keep nursing and holding her when she asks and see if you can get Grandma or Dad to give you a break in the afternoon so you can shower, read, nap or get out a little bit, it will help you be a better mom and a happier mom. Best wishes

Little babies can really wear you out, can't they? Hang in there. It will get better soon. Maybe you can get someone else to rock her or walk with her, especially if you can get her to suck on a pacifier, to get her back to sleep, if you are totally exhausted yourself. There are some really good tips on babies and sleeping here, and the sleep advice may cheer you up.

I think it might help you to get a book about helping babies get themselves to sleep by the author Richard Ferber from the library. (One is called Solve your child's sleep problems). Your little baby is too young for the Ferber strategies now but if you read this book you can have an action plan so if she doesn't start sleeping without you rocking/nursing her to sleep soon, you will know how to help her get to sleep. This will be reassuring.
Good luck. Appreciate your baby when you can. They really do grow up so soon. She will be starting school before you know it, and she'll be a teenager in the blink of an eye.

Sounds like a growth spurt.
I would nurse and rock my son to sleep only to have him wake up as soon as he was placed in the crib. Then I read somewhere he needs at least 20 mins to go into deep sleep to be placed in the crib undisturbed. You can imagine how long it took to get him to sleep.
Try to place your child with a full belly in bed sleepy but with eyes opened. You might did to stand there and comfort your little one for a bit. Do you use a pacifer? At 3 weeks children are not suppose to get nipple confused. Swaddling works as well.

Aw she is only 3 weeks old you cant expect anything more!
You just have to deal with it for now when she is 3 months or so you can start with routines but right now she is not capable of learning stuff like that. She knows she wants her mummy and food and thats all that matters to her

Seems like a lot of nursing, but you might look how you hold and nurse her. babies like closeness and to hear your heartbeat. Try to find a comfortable place like a chair or in bed to give yourself support.
Driving around in the car often will put babies to sleep, try this if your desparate, but then you need to lift and carry the baby out of the car when your home.

Hiya
Its tough I know but at 3 weeks old its normal, she needs her mummy more then anything at the mo, she will slowly grow out of it. She could be having a growth spurt, as they feed so much more at that time. hang in there.

This is what newborns do. Settle down a bit and try to enjoy Mummyhood before you start trying to do routines and stuff. She's just getting used to life 'outside'.

one thing you might want to try is giving her a bottle of either your milk or formula maybe she is not getting enough food to stay asleep. DO NOT just let her cry she is just a little baby for crying out loud
