Well, Medi-Cal is very complicated – there are a million ways to get in depending on a variety of circumstances…for Healthy Families it is pretty much straight up income to 250% FPL (Federal Poverty Level) or about $50K for a family of 4 (but there are income disregards that can help higher income folks qualify). Go to www.mrmib.ca.gov for Healthy Families.

For more Medi-Cal you can try www.dhs.ca.gov but usual it will take a county worker to figure it out.

What state do you live in?

I believe you call the office that gave your benefits to you and tell them you have had a baby. I think you have to wait unitl the child has a social security number for benefits, but you should call and ask them.
