My 10 week old seems to be having a mad couple of hours at about 6pm for the last few nights. She cries when you pick her up and put her down, the only thing that stops her is putting a bottle in her mouth. Problem is that in the space of 3 hours last night she drank 13oz of milk and in the same 3 hours the night before it was 12.5oz. All through the day she drinks 4-5oz every 3hours and is quite content, playing & smiling at us etc.

After these crazy tea time feeds, she cries for 10 mins in her crib but then goes to sleep for ages. Slept from 7pm to 4:30am last night, and for 7 hours the night before. In a sense this is great for us and I am thinking she would wake up if she was that hungry.

Sometimes when she is rooting and mouthing like mad for the bottle, she takes one suck, screams like someone is murdering her, spits the milk out of her mouth and cries. If you remove the bottle the whole process repeats itself immediately ?? Is is that she want to suck but not drink ?

She may just want to suck. She may also be hungry. My Son who is now 13 weeks old did this around 10 weeks. I think he was having a growth spurt. He only did it at night. He would eat like 12oz before finally calming down to go to sleep. Your last paragraph makes me think she just wants to suck. my son will sometimes do that also. I think he wants the bottle so I give it to him and then he freaks out like im murdering him. I did'nt really want him to start to rely on a pacifier but I finally gave in and he passes right out. I only give it to him when he wants to sleep. Also at her age it is very easy for them to get over tired and scream because they are sleepy but don't want to miss anything. Its amazing to me that you can put her in her crib and she goes to sleep on her own! I have to put my son in his car seat and put the carseat in the rocking chair and rock him in there to sleep then move him to the crib! I would try the pacifier at night and see how it works. My son also started sleeping 6-8 hrs a night around I think 8 weeks old. They will wake when they are hungry. I hope some of this helped. At least you know youre not alone! Good luck!

You need to know that 10 week old puppies from Anywhere sleep most of the time - they are growing, and that is a big job. They basically are awake for half an hour or so, and then go back to sleep - for a long time. Your puppy has been through a lot, and she;s very very young - so she SHOULD be sleeping. Puppies also twitch when they are sleeping - and that is also normal. It's nature's way of exercising their muscles, even though it looks as if they may be having a seizure - again, normal. The rear end may be because she is a baby and needs to catch up. At her age, she is very delicate - let her snuggle, but be very careful around her. Puppies this age are easily broken. ONLY give her food - no vitamin C or anything else. Anything extra you give her will overload her system - overwhelm it- and will likely cause a very bad problem where it might not in a grown dog. It will also cause some sort of nutritional problem since she is growing - and many vitamins are poisonous in high doses. The only thing puppies need in high doses are sleep, protection from stress or threats, and attention. Feed her four times a day, crate her with a soft fleece pad, and keep her out of drafts. As she grows, she'll stay awake longer, sleep less, eat more at a sitting and fewer times a day. But for now, she sounds like shes got some catching up to do.

well, i would definitely try a pacifier, cause if she is "rooting" for something, she may just need the pacifier for the soothing effect it gives. If you think the baby is eating too much, try the pacifier first, if that works, don't make the baby eat. and with a 10 week old baby they are supposed to sleep a lot! 7-4 is about 8 hours, that is perfectly fine! Babies should be getting about 14-16 hours a day (which includes the night time sleep and naps)

WHAT DOES YOUR DOCTOR SAY ? YOU COULD ALSO CONSULT A CHILD SPECIALIST. I'M SURE IT'S NOTHING. SHE WILL GROW OUT OF IT.
