We are travel in our car for 16 hours with and 8 month old, anyone have any tips on how to keep her happy.

Benadryl! No really, play kid music and sing, a DVD player if she's into Baby Einstein or other videos, or travel a lot while she sleeps. Also, sit by her for some of the time if you can. Good luck!

Plan stops along the route for every 3 hours or so. Expect the trip to take 1.5-2 times longer than if you weren't traveling with a baby. Pack twice as many activities to keep her entertained in the car as it would take at home. Have a supply of new toys. Schedule a couple of trip segments where someone rides in the backseat with her to read books and sing songs (we like the Little People CDs).

Go to the dollar store and pick up a few new toys or books. She might interact with the toys longer if she's never seen them before. Spend time with her while your in the car just as you would at home. Sing to her, sit in the back and talk to her about what's out the window and where your going, ect. I'm sure it seems kind of scary, but it will be okay! Good luck!

Get some new toys and bring a few old favorites. If she's snacking already, bring some mess free finger foods along too. Make sure to stop every few hours and take a break.

Keep toys handy. Try to stop every two to three hours to let her stretch her legs. Keep at least 6 bottles handy that are ready to go. Have at least 4 baby food jars that are ready to go, for you to sit in the back seat with her and feed her, if she is on baby food, if she is on solid food, stop by a resteraunt, get out let her stretch her legs and get some chicken tenders or something of that sort. Bread always fills my little one up when we are on long trips.
