I am a first time mom with a two month old. He is 16 lbs and 28 inches long...big boy! We have one of these in his beds and when he wakes up at night he is wiggled down in between the two wedges. He can roll from back to tummy but not the other way yet. I am scared that he is going to be wiggled down and fall asleep against the wedges and not be able to breathe. Is it too soon to discontinue use of this product?

When your son starts to be able to turn over, that is when you do it. the wedges are to prevent him to do it, so if he is already turning over, there is no point in having them. With my daughter, I took the wedges off first, and left the inclined mattress in her crib. When she outgrew that, I took it all out. Some people dont even use them at all, and their babies turn out fine.

I have four kids and I only used those wedge things on my twins because they were preemie, it is not a requirement. My first two slept on their backs fine without it.

I personally never used these. But I say that if your scared that he might be in any danger, take it out. It's always better to be safe then sorry. Just keep a good eye on him.

i never used those for my boy, and he was fine. babies will roll around and move while they sleep. its normal, they are learning about their bodies as they sleep (so i have heard) and practicing movements. if you are worried about them, dont use them. they are not required
