Crawling is actually not even a developmental milestone listed on standard charts. It is not a prerequisite for walking. Each baby is different and some babies don't crawl at all. There is no need to make a baby walk as he/she will do it when they are ready. Walking is typically common around 1 year old, but can begin as early as 8 months or as late as 16 months and still be considered perfectly normal.

babies don't necessarily have to crawl before they walk. Some babies don't crawl until a long time after they start walking. When your baby is ready, your baby will walk, crawl, talk... whatever.

don't "make" them do anything. They will walk when their body is ready. ppl used to use walker, to get them to walk. later found out is was terrible, since it was using their legs before they were developmentally ready for such stresses. they all come around when they are supposed to. just be patient. Einstein did not say his first words until he was nine years old.
