EVERYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF!!!!! Ha!!!! when my girl is done well, she either throws the food or sits there and watches very closly as to were this ffod will drop. Or she will take it and smush it between her hands then rub her nose then her hair. It is usually a race to get her hands clean before she gets the rest of her dirty. SHe started with the swiper motion first then went to throwing her food and playing with it. have fun.

Don't worry about any table etiquette until your baby is 2 years old.
Put a "splat mat" down under the table.
My daughter started trying to stand up in her highchair at 10 months. Make sure she is strapped in tight.
She scraped her feet on the bottom of the highchair table until her legs were red and she was crying. (put shoes on her or tickle her feet when she does it, or remove the table and feed her without it.)
She now likes to nonchalantly toss her food over the side of the table, and smash her food with her sippy cup! It is so hard for me not to laugh.
Once she starts tossing food or spitting it out, I end the meal without drama, and take her out of her highchair.
Next meal, she eats the whole thing.

there is no such thing as common behavior in a highchair as each child is an individual and will have individual ways of behaving.all infants will get bored by just sitting that is why they tend to throw things of the table to get attention .it is up to the parent to show them what to do as that is how they learn

They usually move their hands around a lot, tend to slump down a bit, smack the spoon out of your hand and send food flying all over you. Also make sure you have the yray on right, and baby buckled in every time even if youre just gonna turn your back for one second.

They won't be happy in it long, unless there is some food they want or toy to play with. They will pound on the tray, throw things off of it or even fall asleep in it. If you don't watch them closely they can wiggle out through the leg section or over the top. Watch out!!!

First, they will try to escape. There is no way you will get food to them fast enough and this means that they will cry and try to wrench themselves free. Second, they will eat until they are full and then discard the excess on the floor, wait, I should mention that they will smear it around on the tray and themselves before they throw it on the floor. Then they will want down again and they will not appreciate your efforts to contain the mess by cleaning them up first. If they don't want down immediately, it means that they have fallen asleep eating and their face is now half covered in something (usually chocolate pudding or something equally gross)

To see how much food they can spread from side to side. Mine also likes to bend down and chew on the tray. They are teething and the rounded edge must feel good!

Buy or borrrow from library "Spot" (who is a dog) dvd he has very good manners and there is one where he is eating. this worked for my grandaughter and she eventually copied him, she has nice eating manners now. Play it at meal time.
