Honestly, I don't know where the negative answers would come from. As a gentile, I don't think of it as a big deal. The idea that "not" is some symbol of manhood is silly.
The reality is that it is easier to keep clean, rather than trying to peel back and wash. And when he's older, women he's with will be less surprised, most men are circumsized in this country. Plus most (probably all) women will appreciate it due to the cleanliness issue.
Your decision, but long term, I think it's the way to go. My $.02. Good luck!

That is a person decision. Just know that it is only a cultural thing. There is NO medical reason to circumcise a child. Also if you choose to, ask for pain medicines or numbing cream. Some doctors do not routinely give it before circumcision. Just like any procedure, there can be complications. My son is 5 and has 3 surgeries to fix his penis from circumcision.
Also, I noticed someone made a comment about not giving your child the Vitamin K injection. Vitamin K is to help clot the blood and prevent hemorrhage. It has nothing to do with Jaundice. Some jaundice is normal in newborns.

If you personally believe it best to circumcise, then do it, why listen to random people on the internet ranting about it being good or bad. most wouldn't know the difference themselves having never been circumcised or being circumcised at birth. i was circumcised at 23 due to personal choice and a small amount of female preference. for me it is alot better no negative aspects as yet, 3 years after.
but this should be the personal decision of the mother, as she after all is the one looking at it, cleaning it ect until he can be taught to clean it himself. boys being boys wether that happens or not is another story. i personally would rather have grown up circumcised.

absolutely. I don't know about the hospital where you are giving birth, but last August when my grandson was born and circumcised they didn't do a cut, they pulled forward the foreskin and put a band around it and the skin just fell off. Might want to ask about that as Ayden didn't seem to be in any pain at all.

Yes but wait until he is one week old. His natural level of vitamin K will be at its highest point and he will bleed less. Don't get him a K shot. They can cause jaundice.
Also the doctor can give him a local anesthetic before he is circumcised. My boys both had an anesthetic.

Circumcision is a barbaric act performed on newborn males.
Unless you are of the jewish faith; where the baby is given a drop of wine on his tongue, which makes the baby groggy and helps with the pain, then NO.
The hospital will place your son in a type of X shaped mold, where his legs will be strapped down, and the doctor will take a scalpel and slice off the skin on the tip of his penis. The doctor is not always good at this and your son can get cut too short. Don't do it. All that hygienic crap is Bull-stuff, I am sure that you will be teaching your son how to wash his little private parts.

Although most people have their sons circumcized because they think it "looks better," there are some definite advantages to circumcision. Studies have proven that boys who are circumcized are less likely to get urinary tract infections and skin infections in the genital area and are less likely to contract STDs later on in life.

You need to be asking that question to yourself and his father. You will get so much conflicting advise and unreliable info/resources on here from all kinds of people, trust me. Talk to the Dr. and research as much as you can. I know I won't be the one telling you to do it or not. Here are some helpful links to get you started.

Girl please. DONT DO IT, I had my son 3 months ago and decided not to get it done. Im not a religious person or anything but I just figure why remove something that isnt even suposed to be removed. Dont put your baby through something he doesent have to go through. My friend got her baby's done and his ripped when he got an erection. I wouldnt do it if I had another.

I would say if dad is circumcised to also have your son circumcised. If you dont have him circumcised then it is going to mean more attention to cleaning that area of his body.
