My baby started having colic at 2 weeks old. I know it could be a really testing moments for u, i cried too sometimes whenever my baby cried due to the wind pain. He also cried violently when he poo. I felt helpless, his pediatrics were not helpful at all. They refused to recognise it as colic and they refuse to even suggest changing formula.

Then i went to see a neonatologist. He suggested:
-changing formula to novalac AC1. It worked almost immediately.. He didnt cry when he poo, he would just let out a soft yell. (when he poo-hold his hands and talk to him words of encouragement like 'u can do it, its okay, u are strong)
-After each feeding i would burped him. Sometimes it took a while but he must burped. Sometimes it could be loud, sometimes just a soft burped.
-I gave him gripe water.
-Change his feeding bottles to Avent with slow flow nip specially made for colicky babies, another brand that u can try would be Nuk.
-After i shake his bottle to mix the formula, i would open the cap to release the air and close it back. It helped reducing colic.
-During formula feeding, make sure that your baby isnt sucking the air (once the bottle is empty).
-Singing to him, lots of hug and body contact is good for the baby as well.

My baby's colic stopped once he reached 3 months old, thank god. I stopped going to the other pediatricians and i only went to his neonatologist for better understanding to his development. I truly wish u all the best.

Ok, my 14 month old daughter had this when she was little, and it was really tough. After she got over it I kicked myself so hard because I started to do alot of research on it ( I didn't have the time to while she had it) And what I found out was that when a doctor tells you that your baby has colic, it's just because they don't know what is wrong with your baby! Colic is not a disease, it's an excuse!! My advise is to take your baby to their doctor and demand answers, tell them that you are not leaving until they figure out what is wrong with him/her!! And stick to it!! Don't let them say that they will make an appointment for you in 2 weeks.....nothing! Demand right now, or you will find a different doctor! And do not leave until they find a REAL answer. There is a cause. You already know that there is something bothering your baby, so, help your baby, and find what it is!! In the mean time, the gas drops helped with my daughter, and a binki ( but only sitting upright) If it's problems with gas that will make it worse.

have you tried changing formula or reducing cereal intake? that may be the cause of the colic to much cereal or the wrong formula. you can change the formula to goats milk i know sounds gross but it is the BEST milk for babys other than breast milk and it will help with the colic but you will need to check with your MD to see if he feels this is ok for the baby, if that does not work you can try carbonated water with a little bit of bottled water, it will stimulate the stomach and it will make it pass gas. or if you do not want to try any of these you can get some milocon(not sure how to spell it)and give to the baby as directed if it keeps on though you may need to get some perscription meds from your pediatrician for colic good luck the baby usually grows out of it when they are about 6 months old unless your baby started getting the colic when he/she was 6 months then they should be done by the time you put them on regular milk

2 types off colic.

Stomach colic
feed baby less, more often. stomach is not ready for so much food/milk, and therefor cramps up

head colic
protect baby. baby gets mean head aces from over stimulation. block out sounds by sitting with baby in closet, and no sharp lights when tired.

good luck.

I gave my son ginger-mint tea only when it got really bad.

Sometimes I would give him a dropped full of room temperature ginger ale.

Ginger really helps with the tummy(i'm sure you know that) and so does mint. Gripe water helped me a little, I would put it in all of his bottles, the Mother's Choice brand though. I bought the Little Tummy's brand once and it did nothing.

These things help a little but to be honest, there is really nothing that you can do about colic besides be patient and let it pass because eventually it will.

I used Ovol drops for my children... they worked like a charm. They are a minty drop that contains no alcohol. Works better than gripe water. And I also was sure to give my children a few ounces of water during the day as well. You can put a dose of the Ovol into the baby's water bottle to help them as well... and I used to put the dosage right into my childrens' formula as well. Also burp the baby more frequently... I burped mine every ounce and a half of formula just to be sure. I also found that if baby was having a hard time sleeping, I would take the baby for a car ride. The vibrations from the car were helpful and then leave baby in the car seat to sleep.. do not pick up baby to move into the crib.

Old house wife's tale, boil an onion, take some of the water from it add a little sugar and let them drink it. Now neither of my boys ever got colic. But my sisters boy did and it was bad. She used this remedy and it worked for her.

a million) sure, 5:30pm-10pm 2) sure, some circumstances he might want to bypass an afternoon and we'd want to imagine we had made it by the colic besides the indisputable fact that the subsequent day...nicely, you comprehend. 3) My husband and that i continuously imagine up new thoughts to quiet him, operating the vacuum, vehicle rides, walks outdoors in his stroller, rocking, singing, breastfeeding...the list is going on and on. We had slightly saved our sanity until eventually I did some analyze... I analyze a study performed in Italy that suggested using a probiotic supplement containing stay micro organism - like what's cutting-edge in yogurt (extremely L.Reuteri) on colicky toddlers. We suggested it with our pediatrician and performance been giving him a probiotic supplement for the perfect 2 weeks, considering that starting up him on the supplement we've had precisely 2 nights (one this evening) the position there has been some inconsolable crying. besides, examine mutually with your pediatrician, perchance you may want to attempt the probiotic supplement to boot. solid success!

Our daughter was colicky for almost 4 months and we tried everything. The things that worked best was swaddling, she loved being worn in the sling and as funny as it sounds we used to run the vacuum cleaner for hours. It must have been the white noise, most times I would put her in the swing and run the vacuum cleaner and it would work for a while. Good luck, your baby will grow out of it.
