He sticks his fingers too far in his mouth and gags and sometimes throws up. He does this ALLLLLL day long, not just after he eats, so I know he's not eating too much and making himself throw up. Any thoughts?

Because he can! Make sure that you aren't giving him a bunch of attention because of it. Sometimes they prolong phases like that if they think it gets them attention.

My daughter did that too - still does it occasionally (she's 16 months now) ... She did it because, like a previous poster said, because they can... They're just discovering what their bodies can do and it's fun to them.

Because he can. That's it plain and simple. He has discovered he can do it, so he trys it out. My kids did it too. Irritating as you know what, but they stopped. (When they found some new irritating and worry causing activity to persue)
