Just keep offering it, and only that. He will take it when he figures it out (that its all he is getting)
My sister use to do this with her daughter and it worked. Get the bottles out of sight. (keeo some just incase) but i doubt you will need them.
He will play with it like a toy, chew it, suck on it whatever but he will figure it out.
They also make the cups with the straw, my daughter liked these, you can get them at walmart they come 4 to a pack. they are the take n toss (but dont toss them lol they wash well) save some money while your at it :-)
Good Luck

If he drinks out of a regular glass, then give him a regular glass all the time. He'll do fine with it. There is no reason to move backwards.
Incidentally, if you really want to wow your friends, give your son stemware (yes, a wine glass) with his drink. The stem is small enough for little hands to deal with better than a big glass. Of course, your friends will marvel at his sophistication. He'll be happy because he can control it better.
Some kids are like this. Once they hit the regular cups, they don't like the sippy cups at all. If you want them to sippy cup, it has to come before the regular ones. Too late...

She isn't too youthful. My daughter became had her final bottle whilst she became 9 months previous and used a sippy cup from there on out. fortunate for me she wanted no longer something to do with a bottle after utilising a sippy cup yet now my son (14 months) is having a stressful time giving up the bottle. I even have him down in basic terms getting it in the previous nap time interior the afternoon and that's it. i'm no longer very strict approximately it by using fact i do no longer possibly care on the grounds that he does not decide for it each and all the time and my daughter became taken off by using potential of twist of destiny. I in basic terms gave her a sippy cup for the heck of it and what do you know she enjoyed it. in case you proceed giving her a sippy cup over the bottle she would be able to swap. you're able to be able to ought to attempt countless distinctive varieties. My son will in basic terms take a undeniable sort that i chanced on at Wal-Mart, somewhat common to hold and not a thick spout like maximum have. whilst she unearths one she likes she could be greater possibly to apply it however the mothers and dads could desire to proceed this at homestead rather of giving her a bottle after your stressful artwork all day of attempting to wean her off the bottle. teenagers that small choose workouts and consistency. good success.

my daughter was the same way, she would drink outta regular cups but not sippies. We just took the bottle away from her so there was no other option than the sippy cup. She would eventually given because she go thirsty enough to "deal" with the sippy cup. It sounds like you've already introduced the sippy cup to you son...? like just letting him play around with empty cups or filled with water?.. I suppose to sounds pretty harsh but that's the way my daughter got of those awful bottles.

The only way I could get my first son to drink out a sippy cup was when I only put juice init. Try to remove the valve then the juice/milk will drip out then he should get the idea, then you can replace the valve. Good luck, it took my 1st son until he was 13 months!!!!

I feel you.....same age, same problem. I have had good luck with the Take N Toss sippy cups though. I would suggest trying them.

He is just a little baby, there is plenty of time to get him off the bottle. Babies need the sucking. I let my kids have bottles until they were two years old.
They grow up too fast. Let him be a baby.
