I gave birth April 5th, the lochia bleeding seemed to have stopped at little over 2.5 weeks (which lasted abt 5 days) recently I've started bleeding again. Would this be considered a period? I am breastfeeding so I thought my period would be delayed. ?

That happened to me too. The second bleeding was a period and they kept coming every month on the dot. I was breastfeeding (exclusively) but it didn't stop them.

P.S. Talk with your doctor about birth control at your post-partum check-up, you may be fertile now.

I gave birth March 20th & my bleeding kind of lightened for a week or two...but recently it has gotten heavier...I'm not sure about it either. My baby was born 13 weeks premature & its hard keeping up with pumpings because I work & he is in the hospital. I think its lochia..the doctor said it could last anywhere from 1 up to 8 weeks depending on how your birth & etc. If you still have clots then its most def lochia though. Also, If you doctor has prescribed you birth control & your taking it, that could mess up your cycle too.

I noticed with my new son ( I have 4 kids now) that for a month after I had him if I did too much lifting, house work ect then I'd bleed a bit. That is probley what is happining. With breastfeeding my period didn't come back until about a month after I stopped. Be sure to go to the hospital if it is heavy bleeding or has a foul oder that can mean an infection!

It would be considered lochia. Any bleeding during the first 56 days postpartum is considered lochia. Slow down a little bit - you're probably exerting yourself too much, which can make the lochia return.

i BFed too and didnt get mine until after 5 months, but i know some moms that got it in a month after, Everyone is diffrent. Are you sure you were done bleeding>? You can always call you midmife and let her know, see how long it lasts, if it last more than another week I would go see your doc.

Congrats too and WTG on breastfeeding!!!

I guess the only person to determine that is you GYN. But I would assume it's your period.
