:) Pregnancy brain does not go away after the baby is born.
You have had a year of very little sleep...this is pretty normal.
However, if you think it is severe, certainly, see your GP and discuss it with him/her.

I have no idea what causes the baby brain, but hang in there. It absolutely is not just you. I look at myself daily and think - "Wow, I used to be really intelligent and now I can't remember something that I learned an hour ago." I also have trouble concentrating and can't play a game like scrabble to save my life. In my house, I say that I donated all the good brain cells to my twins. They are mostly sleeping through the night so I don't even have the no sleep excuse.
Unfortunately, I think you have to just wait it out. In any case, it must go away someday because I look at many women with older children and even at my mom and she got her memory back at some point.
(I did read somewhere that baby brain is caused by our brain working overtime to make new connections related to being a parent and all the things we learn about and from our children every day)

Its called momnesia! You have a lot on your mind and your #1 priority is your child. Its ok so long as you are remembering the most important thing and that is your child.
It was a hard thing for me to accept considering I'm sort of a typeA personality. But I've learned to laugh at myself, so long as my child is safe and happy everything else comes in second.

Omg. You sound like me. I had a wonderful memory before i gave birth to my son 4 months ago, now I can't even remember something somebody told me 5 minutes ago.
You're not alone it happens to all of us.

My friends and I refer to it as mommy brain. It is completely normal. I have heard there is vitamins you could take, but I have not tried them myself. I would talk to a doctor first if you are really concerned.

It's normal. I've been suffering from it for about a year myself!
Ginkgo biloba will supposedly help improve memory, but since I've never tried it I don't know how well it works.
