ughh i know this topic has been done to death but i'm in desperate need for some help. this is my first pregnancy.
here's the story:
i was slightly underweight before i got pregnant last year. i'm 5'7" and i weighed 115lbs. i got pregnant in july of last year and steadily gained about 60-ish pounds by the time i gave birth in april. i ate whatever i wanted in the first trimester and the first half of the second trimester but i figured that it wasn't worth it to gorge myself on food. so i began eating fairly healthy with the occasional sweet but my weight still grew steadily. by the time april came around, i was a whopping 174lbs.
my son is now 6months old and i weigh 150lbs! i hate my thunder thighs and my belly. i go for 2 long walks a day with my son and dog, i use an exercise bike when i can, i eat healthy, i drink tons of water so why am i not losing any weight? i've stayed at 150lbs for the past 4months.
i'm breastfeeding still but i don't know if that has anything to do with it

I know how you feel!!! I'm 5'8 and started my pregnancy at 120 lbs. By the time my son was born I was 176lbs. I knew the pounds wouldn't fall off instantly, but at 6 months post-partum I was still in the 150's and I ate healthy, had drank only mineral water and juice for 6 months, and exercised. It didn't make any sense! Well, I kept at it and am now 9 months post-partum and my weight has settled on 121 lbs. I never over-did it and I ate healthy but still had an occasional bowl of ice cream. But the weight does come off believe it or not, and just keep doing what you are doing! If you do an extreme diet or take some sort of weight-loss drug you'll only be slowly killing yourself. And since you are nursing you don't want to skip out on too many calories because your baby will suffer for it. It WILL come off! Then all you have to worry about is loose skin...if you find the solution to that let me know. :)

do exercises to your problem areas only and only make a small weight loss goal say 5 lbs in 2-3wks..... it doesn't seem that big but when u see the 145lb on the scale that will motivate you to say ok 5 more lbs in the next 2-3 weeks..

i was like u i still need to lose 17 more lbs I'm not breastfeeding tho and I'm having problems loosing mine too I've lost 20 lbs so far....

i eat the special k breakfast in the morning then walk or clean..

then i use the ab lounge for an hour and watch some TV (really only hearing it then seeing it i find watching the news or a talk show is better b.c. u can hear whats going on without looking.

we all have this problem so please know your not alone and if your breastfeeding is not helping the weight loss just eat as healthy as possible continue walking and just focus on loosing it after your done breastfeeding:)

best of luck:)

im 5'1 was at 150 now im 130 and my weight to were i can fit in my pants is 110-112 LOL i cry when i look at my clothes but it helps motivate me.

Iam you exact size, and started my pregnancy weight about 8 pounds more than you, and by the end apparently we weighed the same.

I was STUCK at 148 for MONTHS, literally from birth until about 1.5 months ago. My son is now 8 months and i have about 6 pounds lift to get back to my regular weight.

You gain muscle when pregnant too, so your weight is more, not just from fat. SO try not to freak out too much.

I breast fed, and that helped A LOT. if youre not breast feeding, just keep doing what you are. Drink a lot of water. I promise as long as you're not taking in too many or too few calories, and your active it WILL come off.

Don't blame the breastfeeding - it actually helps you lose weight.

Weight watchers has a program for nursing mothers, you may want to look into that. But for being 5'7, you are really not very overweight. According to height/weight charts, the ideal weight for a female of your height is 143 pounds.

It took 9 months to gain the weight, give yourself 9 months to take it off!

The breastfeeding might.
I actually heard that some women loose weight breastfeeding and some hold on to weight because of it.
If you are having that much trouble with weight, I would suggest getting a personal trainer to show you how and what to eat and exactly how to exercise. The walking is great but it may just be helping you maintain rather than loose.

Celebrate Meatless Mondays by creating a meal starring beans (another weight-loss aid). You may love this sweet potato as well as black bean burrito.

Choose a whole-wheat wrap instead of two slices of wheat bread.
