I gained 30+ lbs with my pregnancy and was back down to my normal weight 7 weeks after delivery. And I even had a C-section, and couldn't exercise at first. Things that can help you shed the weight more quickly are breastfeeding, drinking lots of low-fat milk, and exercising. But remember, just losing the weight won't always help you fit into your clothes -- you may have some baggy skin issues that prevent some things from fitting right ever again. Good luck!

My daughter, our first, was born three weeks ago today. I had only gained 34 pounds during my pregnancy, and about a week later, I was down 16. By the middle of last week, I was only 16 pounds heavier than my beginning pregnancy weight (the weight I was at my first pre-natal visit when I was already about six weeks along) of 170, a good weight for my six feet tall frame.
While most of the food I eat is whole and healthy, I still eat a bit too much, though I'm slowly eliminating things, like my morning snack. Although my mother-in-law keeps doing things like giving me cookies and baking my vegan chocolate cake. She baked one yesterday or today and brought it today after I told her yesterday that I had thought that I would lose weight a little quicker if I quit eating a big hunk of cake every day. I do not consider junk food a daily necessity (or close to it) like they do. For me, "junk food" is an all natural granola bar from Trader Joe's (an all-natural food store that is really cheap). I get my chocolate fix from chocolate soy milk. We went to my husband's home church yesterday morning and then to my in-laws' for lunch. She sent home chocolate chip cookies with us. Ugh. If she wants to keep baking us cakes, I'm going to have her do it my way-- whole wheat flour and apple sauce in lieu of oil, to make it fat free.
If I could walk some, which I can now that I'm off restriction, and the weather stays comfortable, I don't think it would take me long to lose at least five pounds so I can fit in to my suits again. As a housewife, I don't have much occasion to wear them, except for church, but I want to be able to fit into my two favorites (my gray skirt suit and my pin stripe pants suit) for my daughter's baptism. The skirt suit is more feasible as I wore that comfortably when I started to gain baby weight. At the very least, I also want to trade my maternity jeans for my 14s. It's bad enough that most of my blouses, even the bigger ones, don't fit over my milk-filled breasts. Although, I guess a nursing tank will help with that. (Man I wish I had thought of that when I saw some at a rummage sale last summer.)

With my first child at age 20 it took me only 2 weeks to lose my weight i was blessed then my 2nd one at 22 also took 2 to 3 weeks to lose. Well i got pregnant again at age 30 and that took me alot longer. It was 5 months when i lost it all and to top that off as soon as i lost the weight i got pregnant again with my 4th lol. So i don't know how long it will take this time. I plan on helpin it along by exercising though.

After I had my first baby... (I only gained 18 lbs total with her).. I came home from the hospital and my husband still tells me to this day when looking at pictures that I was his "sexy crack wife!".. Meaning I was nasty skinny looking... so when I gave birth I lost all of my pregnancy weight but that's because I was all baby....It depends on your body on how fast you will lose weight.. just stick to a good healthy diet...Act as if you are still pregnant... I am 35 weeks pregnant with my 2nd one and I have gained about 25 lbs this time

I dropped pretty much all the weight in the hospital- mind you, I only gained 19 lbs in all, and the hospital food was terrible! I've gained a few of those lbs back now since I started back on the pill, and I've never fit back into my jeans- I was a size 0-3 before, but my hips widened and now I'm a 4-6.

last christmas (2006) i was 170 pounds. on sept 15th 2007, i weighed 216 pounds (prior to the delivery of my son). its been 3 weeks now and i'm down to 182, and i can fit in most of my clothes. my belly still has a lot of stretched skin (which i suppose in time will un-stretch), and my thighs are a little fat, but it was so Hot this summer that i was unable to exercise, so my legs are really out of shape.
so, 3 weeks later i can wear most of my clothes. i gained mostly water weight, i think. i still have a little ways to go, but pretty soon i'll be starting weight watchers, plus i am pumping breastmilk for my son.
good luck.

I'll let you know when I get there! Before pregnancy I weighed 130-135 lbs at 5 feet 7. The week before I gave birth I was up to 199. Now, 14 mos later, my body seems to have settled at 160. Maybe someday...

1 week!!!! i know it sounds like bragging, and it is, im so excited/proud! i had an easy pregnancy and ate sensibly the whole time and only gained 24 pounds, and it was gone the week after i gave birth. luckily my birth was also easy and i was up almost back to my old self the very next day. I took at least two walks a day with baby in the stroller as soon as I got home. My belly is still a bit bigger (10 days later) but Ii know with time itll go down.
