Hey does anybody know why babies wake up crying? Not just newborns either but all babies of all ages.

There are a multitude of reasons - hunger, diaper issues, bad dreams, loneliness, temperature issues (either too hot or too cold). Babies cry to express a feeling. They can't take care of themselves so they cry in order to convey to us that they need something.

Try to be more specific when asking. Is your baby doing this after he has already been changed, fed and rocked? A baby can cry for numerous reasons... but many times a baby just wakes up lonely and wants to be comforted by the warmth of his mother or he may just have a little belly ache or gas.

My husband and I just got a baby, she wakes up crying every night. All you have to do is try to calm it down. Babies can cry because of bad dreams that scare them. Just let it know youre there for it. In a little while this will stop. Or he/she might be having gas or stomach pains. If so then you have to rub its tummy and give it some milk. (Breast) is best but thats only if youre a woman. My husband and I give her Nutrillon.
