Hi! I was just wondering..
1. what did it feel like at the time?
2. how did it feel after?
3. do the stitches just grow into the body or do you need them removed?
4. was your vagina just as "tight" after the episiotimy as it was before the baby was born?

my lactation consultant mentioned to me that infant formula contains both soil fungus and cocaine. no joke. now, i have to admit that i find that "fact" a little hard to believe. i didn't call her on it - i simply didn't want to get into a debate with a delusional fanatic, which is what i assumed her to be.

my question: does anyone know if there is anything out there to actually support this statement in the least? i hate the thought that this person is spouting things like this when she has the ear of many new parents (she is a lactating consultant thru our local WIC program and the University of MIchigan), some of whom may be a bit more gullible than average, thus they may believe her and be too scared to switch to bottles if the situation calls for it.

this question is NOT about opening the whole breastfeeding vs. bottle-feeding argument. i'm looking for facts to go to a higher authority with, so please don't turn this into "who cares more for their baby." thanks!

My baby is 7 weeks old. The doctor believes he has reflux. He was screaming for long periods of time, having a lot of gas spitting up a lot after eating, although he hasn't been doing it as much since taking Reglan. He was also taking Zantac but now he is on Prevacid instead. Since the medication isn't helping a whole lot with anything other than the spitting up, we are wondering if it is something else other than reflux. The doctor wants me to try formula to see if it makes a difference (alimentum). It makes more sense to me to eliminate things from my diet & see if that helps. I don't want to stop breastfeeding! Any advice?

Well looks like i'm going to be a new daddy. Right now it hasn't fully set in that i'm going to be a dad. I'm scared, nervous, and alot of anxiety. I probably got more worries than the mommy. Can you mothers or fathers give me advice on how to care for a little baby? Thanks alot.

As far as I know Dreft and Ivory Snow do not have High Efficiency formulas. I'm not sure what my other options are. Are there any?

My baby is going to be 1yrs old on Tuesday and she still screams. When she was 3 weeks to about 6 months she was colic. Eventually, she got over being colic, however she was still screaming. She screams when I change her diaper, she screams at me when I am feeding her. She screams as you put her in the car seat. When you stroll her around outside and stop for a few, she screams. If you don't let her crawl around and explore where she want to, she screams. She is driving me crazy. Does anyone know when this is going to stop? This is my second child and my first never acted this way.

What is the reason to throw it away? Is it a loss of nutrients or is it because of of spoilage of the milk used in it or none of the above?
Please don't answer if you're only making a guess. I'd really like to know why. Thanks in advance!

I'm going to be in a small space because we're moving back to NY, so I'm thinking of getting a travel play yard instead of a set of furniture. It worked well for my brother in law...has anyone done this?

I was curious let's say an affluent couple have a baby and they want to give it up for adoption and of course they want the best for their child-- and a single lady with a job wants to adopt the child, BUT, she also wants the biological father to pay child support even though it is not her own. Is this possible and have you ever heard of something like this before.

I am 42 and am looking to adopt. I can't afford the high fees to get a child, but I can afford to raise one if the father helps financially. YOur thoughts.

It seems to me that when the choice is left to the son, that he is not likely to select that for himself, so why make this choice for him?

So I wasn't sure if this was a good idea or not. We are looking for something to do with our 7 year old and our 3 week old and thought the zoo, but I didn't know with all the animals and germs if this would be a good idea. I would love your thoughts.

Thanks

My wife and I consider ourselves fortunate that we are able to afford for her to be a stay at home wife and mother to our 18 month old twin girls. I also have a home office which is great for her, but not always easy for me to get my work done! But that's another story! I also do 99% of the cooking, I too change diapers, give baths, make beds, vaccum, and there is NOTHING I refuse to do to help out around the house (although I don't always enjoy it). But is it wrong to expect dishes to be in the pantry instead of the sink? Clean underwear in my drawers? Dry cleanin in the closet instead of the car? Toys put away instead of on the living room floor? Her waking up before 9am to take a shower instead of sleeping in until the twins wake up? What should MY expectations of HER be as I try to earn a living down the hall while they watch "Ellen" and "Oprah" and "Greys Anatomy" on the DVR all afternoon?

I have twin boys, almost 12wks old. They don't seem to acknowledge each other. Ever. Is this normal? A friend of mine told me that they won't really interact with each other until they're big enough to sit up and play together, but they actually do know each other is there now. How can they not? They were "womb mates", shared a crib until this week, etc.
When will they start to interact?

My cousin is throwing a baby shower for me but, was interested in knowing if I wanted to have a specific theme. Some of her suggestions were it's a boy, winnie the pooh and the moon and stars. Does anyone know any others or have seen these themes done and how they turned out thanks.

I bought both cuz i can carry the baby in the mosses basket & take it where ever i am like the hall when i am there or put it on a table in the kitchen when i am working there. So i can have a check on my baby when i am doing some work.I just want to know till how many months can i use the mosses basket for the baby.I also got a nice wooden cradle to use it during the night times. My elder son who is 7yrs old got very fascinated looking at the cradle and wanted to get for the baby that is yet to come. I also thought it would be a great idea as I can put it right beside my cot so that i can reach for my baby just by stayin in my bed. Just want to know if anyone found both the mosses basket and the cradle being very useful for their baby to sleep. I never used any of these for my son and he was always with me on the cot as he always needed me to rock him to sleep & he literally clung on me which gave me back aches & sleepless nights! I dont want to undergo that again with the new baby!
