Yes, you can rot their teeth out before they even pop up. This is why you start cleaning their gums as newborns. Also, a 5 months old shouldn't have anything sweet.

I don't think it is harmful to the teeth to give a 5 month old baby sweets but there is no reason to give them sweets at all at that age . Sugar is not good for a babys body,the teeth can't be damaged i think.But I wouldn't recomend it.

Yes, it can be harmful - and there is absolutely no reason to give a five month old baby sweet things - breastmilk or formula only at that point - or if the doc's OK'd it, a starter cereal like rice.

Why on Earth would you give sweet things to a 5 month old? The sugar creates a happy environment for the bacteria that causes plaque, which can cause tooth decay.

yes, there is no point in giving a baby sweets anyway! why? They dont need it and theyre not asking for it so dont give em sweets. I know a family in which the mother (this gives me the heeby jeebies) put soda in her sons bottle, his teeth came in black. Just give the baby what it needs, a healthy diet.

yes they can ruin her teeth.my friends daughter had her teeth pulled out at 1 1/2 yrs old from too much sweet.
my son is 1 1/2yrs old and i never gave him a lollipop and i see moms let there kids at a few months old eat candy and lollipops
